Note for further research into whether or not he's related to television writer and producer Perry Chafe. It seems likely as they have the same surname and are both from Petty Harbour (neither of those things would mean anything on their own, obviously, but both of them together?), but I've not been able to find any source which addresses that at all. Given that Perry identifies his father as a fisherman in an interview while Robert's article says his father was a construction worker, it seems unlikely (though not entirely impossible) that they would be brothers, and more likely that they could be cousins — but obviously we can't assume anything without proper sourcing for it, so I'm leaving this as a talk page note for further investigation in case a source turns up in the future.
