I have started adding text about the history of the city that I have translated from the original German article. 24.91.37.66 (talk) 21:54, 18 February 2014 (UTC)pkz
official name
editThe name of the article should be changed. The official name of the city is "Mülheim an der Ruhr" (because there is more than one city called Mülheim in Germany). "An der Ruhr" is not only a further explanation, but it is a part of the official name. The shorter name "Mülheim" may be common for German speakers, but it is actually incorrect (or rather incomplete).
Population statistics
editI didn't realise that the Gemeindeschlüssel field worked in the English infobox. Thanks Plasticspork for fixing this. I had tried it before, but it didn't work. Maybe the position of it was wrong when I tried it. Should we delete the other, now redundant, population statistics fields in the infobox ? Traduttorello (talk) 23:26, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
Citations
editI want to list a few citations from the same website. Is there a way to list them without having to quote the full web address every time ? Traduttorello (talk) 23:26, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
Mulheim Gate
editThe original text referred to "Mulheim Gate", without much explanation. I can't tell whether it refers to an actual physical gate, or is a reference to Mulheim as a gateway from the rural upper Rhur to the urban lower Rhine. This passage is found repeatedly on other wiki's more or less exactly, and makes no more sense in them than it does here. A quick check for the phrase "Mulheim Gate" shows no evidence of it referring to an actual city gate, so its probably meant metaphorically. But that wasn't obvious from the text. So in reworking the text in this paragraph I've removed the reference to "Mulheim Gate". — Preceding unsigned comment added by TwelveGreat (talk • contribs) 12:12, 1 September 2016 (UTC)
Battle of Mülheim
editThis article contains a brief reference to "Spanish troops besieged Schloss Broich in 1598"). There's an article in the German Wikipedia entitled "Schlacht bei Mülheim (1609)" which probably refers to the same event, though it makes no mention of Schloss Broich. If so then there's a disconnect in the date of the battle. Here its in 1595, there its 1609. I don't know which is correct. TwelveGreat (talk) 17:17, 19 September 2016 (UTC)
deleted add
editI deleted this useless and strange part because it looks like an advertisement and is completely irrelevant especially in the intro. =In December 2013 the Mülheim Transport Authority (MVG) ordered ten Flexity Classic light rail vehicles from Bombardier Transportation.[1] The Mülheim Transport Authority, the Essen Transport Authority and the Duisburg Transport Authority, together operate the VIA Transport Company, and agreed to purchase compatible vehicles.[2]=

The new batch of three-car, bi-directional trams will complement five vehicles already being built by Bombardier for MVG after it exercised an option on an order for 27 trams placed by the Essen transport authority (EVAG), which alongside MVG and the Duisburg transport authority (DVG) make up the Via Transport Company.

External links modified
editHello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Mülheim. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}}

to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:
- Added archive http://web.archive.org/web/20130801203953/http://www.opole.pl/miasta_partnerskie_opola to http://www.opole.pl/miasta_partnerskie_opola
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at {{Sourcecheck}}
