Adding unreferenced entries of former employees to lists containing BLP material
editHello, Please do not add unreferenced names as entries to the list of former employees in this article. Not including this type of material in articles abides by current consensus and is strongly discouraged in our policies and guidelines. The rationales are as follows:
- WP:NOT tells us, Wikipedia is "not an indiscriminate collection of information." As that section describes, just because something is true, doesn't necessarily mean the info belongs in Wikipedia.
- As per WP:V, we cannot include information in Wikipedia that is not verifiable and sourced.
- WP:NLIST tells us that lists included within articles (including people's names) are subject to the same need for references as any other information in the article.
- Per WP:BLP, we have to be especially careful about including un-sourced info about living persons.
If you look at articles about companies in general, you will not find mention of previous employees, except in those cases where the employee was particularly notable. Even then, the information is not presented just as a list of names, but is incorporated into the text itself (for example, when a company's article talks about the policies a previous CEO had, or when they mention the discovery/invention of a former engineer/researcher). thanks Deconstructhis (talk) 16:25, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

- Move the short description to the top of the article (MOS:ORDER).
- Add WP:ALT text to every image being used.
- Add a WP:GEOCOMMA after "Dallas, Texas, United States".
- Add a serial comma between "KTXA, KXTX-TV and KTVT".
- Add a serial comma between "movies, reruns and children's programs".
- Add a WP:GEOCOMMA after "Washington, D.C.".
- Add a serial comma between "ABC, CBS and NBC".
- Add a comma after "KSTW in Seattle".
- "as part the" – reword
- "reviously" – typo?
- Yup.
- Add a serial comma between "editors, producers and photographers".
- "5pm" → "5 pm" (MOS:TIME)
- Add a serial comma between "lifestyle, entertainment and opinion segments".
- Be consistent with "a.m.", "am", "p.m.", and "pm".
- The general formatting script is awful about this! It doesn't pick up all of them.
- "cancelled" → "canceled" (American English)
- Wikilink Aljean Harmetz.
- Use "last name, first name" for every reference.
- The Bill Carter article is not about the reporter so remove the link.
- MikeMcGuff.com has been found to be unreliable.
- Mark references from The New York Times with "|url-access=limited".
- Mark references from The Wall Street Journal with "|url-access=subscription".
- Ping when done. Some Dude From North Carolina (talk) 15:25, 23 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Some Dude From North Carolina: Done. This was a weird one for me—a lot of existing prose (and some existing references with subpar material), some of which I'd written previously, but also massive trimming. The article was cut down by 40% of its prose size in preparation for GA. I axed one of the old logos, which came from Logopedia (ruh-roh). Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 16:10, 23 July 2021 (UTC)
