" In 1998 the results of these studies were questioned and the classification reverted to the pre-1970 consensus of a single species containing two subspecies until the taxonomy could be resolved using modern techniques such as molecular sequencing. The latest analyses of mitochondrial DNA of the two subspecies did not display the variances needed to support their classification as separate species." The point of my changing this to "two populations did not display the variances needed to support their classification as separate species" is not what is in doubt now, but what was in doubt at the time represented by the beginning of the second sentence. Saying subspecies there is jumping the gun. You are talking about the results of the tests before actually talking about the test itself. --Khajidha (talk) 00:54, 18 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Regarding the name

Hi @Elmidae. I hope you are doing well. I wanted to let you know that it is the native term. It was there before Bhagyamani removed it. If you are not comfortable with the script then at least add (locally known as ḇulhaṇ in the Sindhi language). Sir Calculus (talk) 16:59, 3 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
