editWondering how to edit this U.S. County Entry?
The WikiProject U.S. Counties standards might help.
The following passage could use some clarification
"Harford County has been burdened by soil contamination and groundwater contamination since the creation of Aberdeen Proving Ground. The military installation performs research for the U.S. Army and has released various chemical agents into soil and groundwater, including mustard gas and perchlorate. The bordering towns of Aberdeen and Edgewood have both been affected by this contamination."
The language here is misleading and has a generally negative tone. The contamination mentioned is many decades old and pre-dates current environmental law. A brief history of the site is in order lest the reader be left with the impression that chemical agents were intentionally released into the environment within recent memory. Also, exactly how have the neighboring towns of Aberdeen and Edgewood been affected? That sentence leaves the reader to wonder, "what happened and when"? Finally, it should be clarified that Aberdeen Proving Ground and Edgewood Arsenal were formerly two separate facilities. The city of Aberdeen is many miles away from Edgewood, and the Edgewood Area of APG (formerly known as Edgewood Aresenal) is where the chemical warfare agents are stored and researched. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hadrian swall (talk • contribs) 18:24, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
Education section
editI am looking to move most of the info on the public elementary and secondary schools over to the article on the school district. Their is more info being presented here about the school district then is on the article for it. Also probably going to drop the info on the operating hours for the individual schools, it's really extraneous information and subjective. Parts on the college education would stay, the remainder would be reworded. --boothy443(t|c|r|e) 04:55, 4 December 2009 (UTC)
