Area or Zone?
editSo, should we stick with Area or change it to Zone. One should be set as a redirect. Google has both, with Area getting a slight lead, however searching on the Spanish version goes the other way (Zona over Área). I have even found articles that swap between the two. In my opinion, Zone sounds more precise as a unique feature of Mexico. --- Jagged 13:13, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

Change title?
editThere appears to be a wikipedia page with very much the same name, but less information. Renaming this article to 'Greater Guadalajara' should help differentiate. Eric.magar (talk) 21:14, 8 April 2021 (UTC)

Suggestion for updating the data
editThe Guadalajara government website contains information updated to 2020 and it would be very useful to update the data in the first table. Also, adding the locations of the municipalities would be a way to provide more information and have a more complete page. MiguelCAlvarez96 (talk) 00:20, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
Metropolitan areas urban problems
editMetropolitan areas are characterized especially by the strong interlinkages between one or more core cities with their peri-urban and rural surrounding areas, not by their population seize or their concentration of economic functions only. These interlinkages are of economic (flow of goods, capital, workforce, information, innovation…), social (commuting, cultural, political and educational functions of core cities, multi-locality of households…) and environmental (flow of natural resources, city-region ecosystem services, micro climate…) nature.
