The park is based around five main themed areas, which are based on different Ghibli movies and are located within the grounds and buildings of Expo 2005.

Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse will be roughly three times the size of the Ghibli Museum and will have exhibit rooms, a 170-seat theater, and a children’s play area. One of the main exhibits is Arrietty’s house, complete with large vegetation to mimic Arrietty’s perspective. There will be Ghibli character exhibitions such as Robot Soldier and Catbus[11] and an area where children can play in the world of My Neighbor Totoro. A model of the Air Destroyer Goliath, which will be 6 meters long, and the ruined gardens (both from Castle in the Sky) will appear at the Grand Warehouse.[9][10]

The Hill of Youth will be themed to the film Howl’s Moving Castle, with an elevator offering views which will be located at the park’s entrance.[10] This area will also feature Whisper of the Heart's antique shop, called “World Emporium”, and The Cat Returns “Cat Bureau,” recreated as a cat-sized wooden one-story building.[9]

Dondoko Forest will be the location of Satsuki and Mei’s house from My Neighbor Totoro, which was already built from the 2005 Aichi Expo.[12] This will have a rural landscape and nature echoing the Showa period (1926 – 1989).[10] The name of this area comes from the “Dondoko Odori” dance performed by Satsuki, Mei, and Totoro during a famous scene from the film. There will also be a playground with wooden structures called “Dondoko-do” on the hill behind the house,[9] which is mentioned on the park’s website as “‘Dondoko-do’ awaits you at the top of the forest hill that sits behind Satsuki and Mei's House”.[11]

Mononoke Village will represent Princess Mononoke. It is based on the film’s setting of Irontown (Tatara). It will house a models of a Tatarigami spirit monster, the boar god Lord Okkoto and other mystical creatures from the film.[10]

Valley of Witches takes inspiration from the film Kiki's Delivery Service and the wastelands from Howl’s Moving Castle. This area will include restaurants and small amusement facilities. There will also be a replica of Karikiya, the home of Kiki and her parents.[10] The valley area will have a life-size Howl’s Moving Castle, which will be four to five storeys high. However, it won’t move and it will be smaller than the structure in the film.[13]

Sorry I didn't notice this before, but the last two paras are straight copies and the rest are very similar to other content. Primefac (talk) 09:36, 16 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

I’ve made even more changes to the last two paragraphs, I really think this needs to be in the article because it’s the main part of the park. If you want to make your own edits here then feel free. Grey13z (talk) 20:05, 16 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
