Tenerina

edit

The source about italian cake added by an IP is about the tenerina cake which is made with flour as you can easily see in all the recipes. Then it should be removed 77.205.41.211 (talk) 11:06, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Even if it was true the sources about the origins are clear and they SHOULD NOT BE REMOVED 79.21.222.19 (talk) 11:12, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
The source is talking about tenerina cake which is made with flour, you can google a recipe it's very easy. 77.205.41.211 (talk) 11:13, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Again, you showed no source and start rapidly vandalizing this page 79.21.222.19 (talk) 11:14, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
https://ricette.giallozafferano.it/Torta-tenerina.html
Here you have a recipe, flour is an ingredient (farina in italian) 77.205.41.211 (talk) 11:15, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
New York Times is a bit better as source. And you still haven't showed any source that contradicts its origins 79.21.222.19 (talk) 11:19, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
new york times is talking about tenerina and it has flour then it doesn t belong to this article 77.205.41.211 (talk) 11:20, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Except it has not. Your source shows only that it can be used
What about the sources on the origin? 79.21.222.19 (talk) 11:22, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
All the recipes on the internet show the same, and giallo zafferano is a reliable site about italian recipes 77.205.41.211 (talk) 11:24, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Again, if you have a valid source post it, but the sources in the articles are from books and shows a clear origin and a clear recipe for Tenerina. And it's worth mentioning Torya caprese too. 79.21.222.19 (talk) 11:28, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Which recipe of tenerina do you have? tenerina is always with flour as shown in absolutely all the recipes online. Then it has nothing to do in this article 77.205.41.211 (talk) 11:30, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
No it's not
https://www.nonnapaperina.it/2023/11/torta-tenerina-la-torta-senza-farina-che-piace-a-tutti/
See? Other articles similar to yours confirm New York Times
Stop vandalizing the page 79.21.222.19 (talk) 11:36, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Even your recipe is with rice flour, it is a modern version, do you think in Ferrara in the 15th century they were using rice flour? 77.205.41.211 (talk) 11:43, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Again, you haven't show a valid source to refute New York Times or that shows it's modern
https://ricetta.it/torta-al-cioccolato-senza-farina
Stop vandalizing this page, you have no consensus nor right 79.21.222.19 (talk) 11:45, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
All recipes exist in version without gluten, it is a modern version. Anyway all the recipes of traditional torta tenerina are made with flour 77.205.41.211 (talk) 11:47, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
You haven't shown any source in that sense, you just deleted the one already on the article. This is disruptive behaviour 79.21.222.19 (talk) 11:48, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
The thing is that you put a source about a cake made with flour to say it is the oldest recipe without flour. It is a nonsense that have to be removed 77.205.41.211 (talk) 12:11, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
You haven't showed any source that show it's not and deleted the references to Torta Caprese as Enamait 79.17.172.126 (talk) 13:19, 31 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Enamait

edit

He deleted references before a consesus could be reached. also, he deleted any reference to Torta caprese 79.17.172.126 (talk) 13:20, 31 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Edit war

edit

@Belbury Can you read the reference please. There is a discussion here in the talk page. The reference is talking about torta Tenerina as the origin of flourless cakes but the recipe they give in the same article (New York Times) includes flour. Can we agree that this is not a good reference? Yonasse (talk) 17:08, 9 September 2024 (UTC)(  Blocked sockpuppet of Xiaomichel, see investigation)Reply

Actually the discussion was with an account who was later revealed to be a puppet account. Who also deleted the reference to the other flourless cake, Torta caprese 79.17.172.126 (talk) 17:13, 9 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Great but anyway he was right saying that the reference is bad as if you open the reference you can read they are talking about a cake which has flour as one of its ingredients Yonasse (talk) 17:41, 9 September 2024 (UTC)(  Blocked sockpuppet of Xiaomichel, see investigation)Reply
Being a puppet account the purpose of that statement is questionable. Moreover, you should not delete a source without providing anything better, if you have, nor you delete sources only because they are conflicting with your POV (again, Torta caprese) 79.17.172.126 (talk) 17:55, 9 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
The source from New York times says exactly this:
Ferrara is known for a particular type of chocolate cake called la torta tenerina....La tenerina is made with only two or three tablespoons of flour.
Should we really include a recipe containing flour in an article about flourless cakes? Yonasse (talk) 17:58, 9 September 2024 (UTC)(  Blocked sockpuppet of Xiaomichel, see investigation)Reply
Do you have a better source? Beside, why deleting Torta caprese, which could easily take the place of Teresina ( which is flourless)? 79.17.172.126 (talk) 18:36, 9 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

edit

At 17:03 on 9 September 2024, Belbury, while reverting after an edit war, removed some code I added while this edit war was underway. The code was originally immediately after the section heading:

==Versions and similar cakes==

The code was:

[[The River Café (London)|The River Café]]'s "chocolate nemesis" is a version of a flourless chocolate cake, with only four ingredients, eggs, sugar, chocolate and butter.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://shoptherivercafe.co.uk/pages/the-river-cafe-chocolate-nemesis|title=Chocolate Nemesis Recipe|website=Shop [[The River Café (London)|The River Café]]|access-date=28 August 2024}}</ref>

Could this be reinserted after the section heading? Maidenhair (talk) 18:51, 30 October 2024 (UTC) Maidenhair (talk) 18:51, 30 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Do you have any other sources for this other than the cafe's own website? Possibly something independent of the company, like a local news article or such? - Adolphus79 (talk) 20:29, 30 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
