Undue weight
editThis article is not a list of institutes, it is meant to discuss engineering education in India in general. As such, the "Other notable universities" section was giving undue weight to some specific universities and looked like a collection of promotional brochures. I rewrote the section as a bulleted list in a much more neutral manner. I removed institutes not identifying as universities. I tagged universities which made no claim which made them specifically important. I removed many irrelevant claims to grandeur which were promotional. I tagged for sources. I alphabetized. Please discuss here before adding to the section. --Muhandes (talk) 28 June 2017
Section AICTE approved institutes by state
editI just looked at the dashboard and while there are 10399 institutes only 6447 are engineering and technology. I think someone got the wrong numbers. I would have fixed it but the entire purpose of this list is doubtful with numbers changing every day. --Muhandes (talk) 19:30, 3 January 2018 (UTC)
Lead
editThe lead should be a dispassionate summary of current engineering education in India, not some vague puffery about who is best or earns most. Please enlarge the lead with relevant encyclopedic facts from a neutral point of view, ideally based on independent sources where needed (although details should be elaborated in the main text). - Thanks for the sources. The second one is useful, and I will use it to update the first lines of the article. I'm not sure how they are relevant, is deals with Engineering in the US.--Muhandes (talk) 07:02, 13 September 2021 (UTC)
- Actually, we have a 2021 source in the article so it is not very useful either. --Muhandes (talk) 07:39, 13 September 2021 (UTC)
