Hello. Ronaldo has won 34 trophies and not 32 as mentioned in the article. The uncounted trophies are the FA Community Shield 2008 and the UEFA Super Cup 2016. Although Ronaldo did not play both games the titles must be added as he was part of the team squad, in addition to being collective awards. Enclosed references:

Similarly, Ronaldo was awarded the best player of the 21st century at the Globe Soccer Awards ceremony:

The following sentence (the reference for it is 313) needs a minor grammar fix - "take" instead of "taken":

"Ten Hag later named Ronaldo as captain for a league game against Aston Villa on 6 November, saying that Ronaldo was "an important part of the squad, we are happy with him and now he has to taken even more of the leader role".

The result of this discussion was Merge. Almost everyone seems to agree a merge is needed, along with others at Talk:UR Cristiano. win8x (talking | spying) 13:07, 4 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Feels a bit too soon, the YouTube channel may only get coverage right now and none in the future. win8x (talking | spying) 12:09, 23 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

The channel is breaking records and passes notability as it has multiple sources covering it, I think it’s too soon to propose a merge. V.B.Speranza (talk) 13:37, 23 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Chanel already have achievements and separated media coverage, so it should be separated article 178.84.212.158 (talk) 10:20, 24 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
There’s coverage mostly about one thing: the subscriber count. I think it would fit better as a small section in the main article. win8x (talking | spying) 14:34, 27 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Not enough info for a separate article so definitely merge. All my warmest wishes, ItsKesha (talk) 10:46, 25 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Merge to the Main Page, to the section "Outside football" - The YouTube channel is a part of Ronaldo's internet presence. His Instagram account doesn't have its own article despite it being the second-most followed account there. Yoshiman6464 ♫🥚 17:56, 25 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Merge to Cristiano Ronaldo#Outside football. Channel isn't independently notable. Yoshiman makes a good point about how his Instagram page isn't independently notable. The YouTube page is just an extension of his fame on social media (and in the media and in the world, really). Nothing independent, or "new", about it other than the fact that it's blowing up since it's his channel. Paul Vaurie (talk) 22:17, 25 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Merge: Per Win8x and Paul Vaurie. No scope for growth to be an independent article. It only matters unless it has something to do with subscriber count. It should fit as a simple paragraph in the bio article itself. Ken Tony Shall we discuss? 20:07, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Support: The article about the yt channel covers info that is too new to have a full article on it. EarthDude (talk) 15:57, 29 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Merge: Cristiano Ronaldo has earned notability outside of YouTube. Channels like Eminem Music don't have their own article, so I think a major section on the YouTube channel should be included on Cristiano Ronaldo's article instead. FloridaMan21 14:01, 3 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Not done: The existence of the image does not signify political connection. It shows that he is a popular person to the extent that the PM presents a signed gift to another PM. Bunnypranav (talk) 10:06, 5 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Why exclude goals in cup competitions?

edit

Cristiano Ronaldo has famously just reached 901 goals, yet the stats on this page are missing 100s of them because we don't mention his goals in the Champions League, FA Cup, Copa Del Rey, etc. Why is that? Can we at least have a separate section to list them? Dantilley (talk) 21:12, 8 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

The number of goals are wrong for example it only takes into account his La Liga goals and not all competitive matches with Real Madrid 2001:56A:F103:9100:3098:C850:B8E9:27F0 (talk) 18:41, 16 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Not done: There is a note in the infobox associated with his height that says it varies between 1.85 and 1.89 depending on which source is used. DrOrinScrivello (talk) 16:51, 27 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

This sentence

edit

After the game, Ferguson agreed to pay Sporting £12.24 million for what he considered to be "one of the most exciting young players" he had ever seen.

I think this can be changed to, " Speaking about ronaldo, Ferguson said "he was one of the most exciting young players" he had ever seen " . the transfer fee to sporting is literally already mentioned in the next sentence , this is why i think it should be changed Matthew is here zero (talk) 23:58, 27 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Mistake in this sentence

edit

"...is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a forward for and captains both Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr..." I believe there is a mistake in the sentence that could be corrected with "... is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a forward for Al Nassr and Portugal, where he serves as captain of both teams. CuraLiuc5 (talk) 15:11, 28 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

While your proposed version is a correct way of rephrasing the sentence, I actually prefer the existing word structure as a less-wordy way of saying he captains and plays forward for both teams. I added a "the" after "both" to rectify the grammatical error. DrOrinScrivello (talk) 19:46, 2 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Order of Merit Abbreviation incorrect

edit

The Portuguese Order of Merit is incorrect. It should be abbreviated as OM. It says it here in list of post-nominal letters. If that is true, then can anyone edit it? There is a protected edit and I cant seem to edit. Gooners Fan in North London (talk) 16:33, 30 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

According to the article you linked, it is an Officer of the Order of Merit that is abbreviated OM. Ronaldo is correctly identified as a Commander, abbreviated ComM (though an argument could be made that per the manual of style, post-nominals shouldn't be included in the article's lead in the first place).
