Add A Fact: "Conor McGregor welcomes fourth child"
editI found a fact that might belong in this article. See the quote below
Enfin, pour cette année 2023, un nouveau garçon vient de rejoindre la famille McGregor, son nom n’a pas encore été communiqué.
The fact comes from the following source:
Here is a wikitext snippet to use as a reference:

Can new subject heading be included
editUnder controversies there is multiple sexual assault claims & now a civil case passed. Can a subject heading of sexual violence claims be added to encompass these. It provides more clear accuracy & transparency 2A06:5900:A45:7C00:35D6:6AF3:FA34:7D93 (talk) 01:49, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- It seems logical to group so many similar crimes together. Sex offences. Violence offences. Driving offences. Spideog (talk) 11:34, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
Category
editI added Category:Irish rapists to the article. It was removed by Nswix because the finding was by a civil court. So, per WP:BRD, we reach "D". I say that the fact that he was found to have raped someone by a civil court and not a criminal court is immaterial. Effectively calling McGregor a rapist is not a breach of WP:BLP and that the category should be restored to the article. Mjroots (talk) 06:25, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- Given that there is a subcategory of Category:Irish rapists called Category:Irish people convicted of rape, then yes, he should be added to the former. The trial, and reporting on the trial, outlined what he did (in graphic detail). He should also be added to Category:Irish sex offenders (which I'll now add him to). - I note in an edit summary, Nswix said
It was a civil suit, thrown out of criminal court
. Completely incorrect, and Nswix appears to be unfamiliar with the Irish justice system. The allegation was investigated by Gardaí. They felt there was enough evidence to prosecute, and so referred a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions. Her office decided that there was not sufficient evidence to secure a criminal conviction "beyond all reasonable doubt", and elected not to proceed with a prosecution. Which, as we know, is very common in sexual assault and rape cases. That's a far cry from "was thrown out of criminal court." BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 08:59, 23 November 2024 (UTC)- The case can't have been "thrown out of criminal court" if it never reached the criminal court in the first place. Mjroots (talk) 09:56, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- He was convicted of rape in court and it was reported as such in reliable Irish news media. Spideog (talk) 11:40, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
Consensus seems to be for inclusion of the category. I'll add it back. BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 23:48, 25 November 2024 (UTC)

Replace the term "rape conviction" with the term "judgement", as he was never convicted as the paragraph implies Discip1ine (talk) 13:50, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- Done - agree, there was no conviction as it was a civil case, not a criminal case. Mjroots (talk) 17:47, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
Jargon re "remanded"
editIn the Controversies section in the third paragraph under "Driving offences", the word "remanded" was tagged as jargon in the sentence beginning "He has not yet indicated a plea and the judge remanded". This word is frequently used in Irish media about court cases and while it is legal jargon the fact that it is used in media shows it is widely understood. Furthermore, in the previous sentence the phrase "remanded on continuing bail" links to the Wiktionary entry on remand. Should the jargon tag remain or be removed?
