Jeff Guo (October 25, 2016). "Wikipedia is fixing one of the Internet's biggest flaws". The Washington Post. For instance—right now on the page for Black Lives Matter, there's an anonymous contributor who is upset that the article doesn't mention George Soros, who is believed by some on the alt-right to be the movement's ultimate sponsor. (It's not true.) The contributor accuses the pages editors of conspiring 'portray BLM in the most favorable light possible.' 'Easy,' one of the editors responds. 'Take a breath and let's see what we can agree on.'
The contentious topics procedure applies to this page. This page is related to post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people, which has been designated as a contentious topic.

There needs to be a greater discussion of the violence directly associated with BLM. During the July 2020 protests, extensive rioting also occurred with attacks on police, particularly in the Capital Hill area. I think the death total was 49 directly associated with the riots? Though would need to confirm this. If anyone has any sources:
Overall death toll.
Murder of retired police captain David Dorn by a BLM activist. Though this seems quite well documented already.
Capitol Hill Occupied Zone killings - there were at least two?
Any direct links between the BLM hierarchy and the killings.
Indirect links between the BLM hierarchy and the killings - for example incitement to hatred and violence. 86.62.30.191 (talk) 15:09, 8 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Also the Texas shootings of 2016 were committed by a BLM supporter who was radicalised by BLM rhetoric. There needs to be a bit more on the historic (pre-2020) violence associated with BLM. 86.62.30.191 (talk) 15:21, 8 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
