Move
editWhy was this page moved without discussion? If a move was felt necessary then it should have been to Birmingham Botanical Gardens, England in line with other articles. Murgatroyd49 (talk) 14:34, 9 January 2022 (UTC)
- I agree. Birmingham Botanical Gardens, England and Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Alabama appear to be the most consistent titles. Peter coxhead (talk) 15:41, 9 January 2022 (UTC)
- I am not convinced it needed moving in the first place, the article on the parent city is not Birmingham, England/United Kingdom/whatever. Murgatroyd49 (talk) 16:53, 9 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Murgatroyd49: The move should have been discussed, but there is a difference between the city and the botanical gardens. Birmingham, England, is much larger than Birmingham, Alabama, and is the second largest city in the UK, so the case for its priority seems clear. The English botanical garden is notably smaller than the Alabama one. Although perhaps of more historical importance. I think it's hard to argue that it deserves the undisambiguated title. Qualifying both seems to me the best solution. Peter coxhead (talk) 20:42, 9 January 2022 (UTC)
- In which case it should be England, with commas, not United Kingdom in parentheses. Murgatroyd49 (talk) 22:03, 9 January 2022 (UTC)
- I agree, as noted above. Both should be moved. Peter coxhead (talk) 07:10, 10 January 2022 (UTC)
- I will wait and see if anyone objects. If not I'll move it (them) later in the week. Murgatroyd49 (talk) 09:10, 10 January 2022 (UTC)
