editUnd erhalte dir die Farben seines Himmels, weiß und blau!
The translation "And lift up for you the colours
of His Heaven, white and blue!
is wrong. It ought to be "And preserve the you the colours"
"Lift up" would be "er halte hoch"
einig uns ein jeder schau...
editHello,
As far as I understand it (being born in Bavaria), the current translation for
Dass mit Deutschlands Bruderstämmen einig uns ein jeder schau
which is
That with bonds of German brotherhood United we are with each display
is wrong. In this context, "schau" is subjunctive form of "schauen", not the noun "Schau" (which is written with a capital letter by the way). And "Deutschlands Bruderstämme" refers to the other "tribes" that lived in Germany that time (like the Saxons etc.). However, my English is too bad to translate these two lines in a way that sounds like correct English and does not reorder the two lines.
A free translation would be
(So) That everyone views us (as if we were/are) united with (the other) germany's brotherhood tribes
Feel free to make a nice English sentence from it. mihi (talk) 14:57, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
Edit: The sentence from http://www.nationalanthems.info/bav.txt sounds better, but I am unsure about the copyright, so I won't rip it. mihi (talk) 13:36, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
Indonesia
editI would very much like to know if Indonesian TV stations really play the Bavarian Anthem and, if yes, why. Sounds a bit surreal to me. Links would be greatly appreciated. --212.255.233.214 (talk) 17:55, 26 November 2013 (UTC)
Indonesian spam
editSomeone in Medan, Indonesia, has repeatedly inserted a nonsensical paragraph saturated with blue ink; it babbles on about TV stations in Indonesia. It also triggers the DABLINKS bot to flag the page. I encourage everyone to keep this page on their watch list for awhile; if we revert the spam before the bot shows up, we may be able to keep this page out of the "too many links to dabs" category. Sigh. - Gorthian (talk) 21:34, 25 May 2014 (UTC)

Better recording
editThere must be a better free recording out there than this computer-generated junk, could someone with knowledge of German/German copyright laws look for one please? Thanks! DemonDays64 (talk) 05:36, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
