Map references

edit

@Duckmather: I do not agree that gbmappings are suitable for only Wikidata. The Wikipedia readership that are interested in these areas want to know where they are. I am of the opinion we should re-add these references.

Merge proposal

edit

Guidelines at Wikipedia:WikiProject UK geography/How to write about settlements state that ideally the civil parish should be the catch-all article, avoiding single line articles on every village and landmark within the parish.

Therefore, I suggest that villages within the parish with a one or two sentence article, ie Abbotsford, West Sussex & Ansty, West Sussex to be merged and redirected to this parish article. ++ MortimerCat (talk) 12:14, 5 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Merge Abbotsford, maintain Ansty

edit

Due to lack of notability for Abbotsford, I support the proposal. I have had great difficulty in finding reference to the village; I have only found reference to Abbotsford Community Special School, which is usually listed as a Burgess Hill or Cuckfield school anyway.

However, due to the (albeit limited) development of the Ansty article, I would not support Ansty's merge.
