Black sesame roll is a refrigerated dim sum dessert originating from Hong Kong, popularised in the 1970s and 1980s. It can be found in overseas Cantonese Yum Cha restaurants as well. It has a sweet flavour and a smooth and soft texture.

Preparation of the dessert begins with drying a thin layer of black sesame paste. The paste eventually forms a thin refrigerated sheet. Then, the sheets are individually rolled up into a sesame roll.
