Concept and appearances
Missile was designed by Shu Takumi, the designer of Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, which is also the only appearance he has made so far. In a remake of Ghost Trick for the iPad, he stars in a mini-game called "Missile Omikuji", where he tells fortunes to players in his "enthusiastic" style.[1] Missile is a Reception
Since appearing in Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, Missile has received overwhelmingly positive reception. Series creator Shu Takumi noted that, even more so than protagonist Sissel, Missile is the one who gained the most positive response in Japan. He describes him as "one of the more beloved characters in the series."[2] 's Tom Hoggins called Missile "one of gaming’s sweetest and most endearing characters against all odds."[3] GamesRadar's Carolyn Gudmundson called Missile "possibly the cutest, most loveable dog we've ever seen in a game", as well as a reference to a dog of the same name in the Ace Attorney series.[4] She added in another article that his actions to protect his owner Kamila will "make your heart hurt with his selfless love and devotion".[5] GameTrailers commented that Missile would win players over, calling him "a likable Pomeranian pup with unrelenting chutzpah."[6] Video Gamer's Martin Gaston called him charming, citing him as a particular highlight of the cast.[7] Game Revolution's KevinS noted that without Missile, the animation would not be enough to carry the game.[8]
Ghost Trick changed him from wanting a Pug to wanting a [9] Siliconera editor Spencer presented a contrast between Missile and game protagonist Sissel - where Sissel takes the situation of Missile's death seriously, Missile accepts that he is dead by rationalizing that he, as a dog, doesn't know a lot of things.[10] N-Sider's Matt Behrens described him as a "character", in the sense of him having a strong personality; he added that he found it funny when, upon regaining his memory, Missile yells "I'm a Pomeranian!"[11] Adventure Gamers' Dante Kleinberg described him as "cute and cuddly", while also using his death as an example of the darker elements found in Ghost Trick.[12] [13] [14] Games TM, while finding some fault in the game's structure, noted the interaction between Sissel and Missile as "amusing a concept as it is bizarre".[15] PALGN's Jarrod Mawson also enjoyed the character, calling him "colourful and lovable".[16]
