Random thoughts - am I the only one having trouble with all these annoying anonymous commenters? Truly, lately I have had to turn on comment moderation - which I hate having to do. It has gotten to the point that I am considering shutting down my blog. I don't want to do that since I think of a lot of you as friends. Any ideas/suggestions welcome.
I've gotten a ton the past 6 months too. Some days are worse than others. honestly, I do read them because some of them are so funny. they are just so random. and the ones where English is clearly not their first language? priceless.
ReplyDeletebut is is very annoying to have to delete them everyday. they don't even come in on my comment system --- they are on blogger's comment system, which I do not have turned on.
Since Not blogging is definitely not an option for me, I've just learned to live with them.
I guess i am lucky because I haven't gotten comments from anyone other than the ones I comment on. Don't give up on blogging.
ReplyDeleteI started using the button to confirm you are not a spammer. Once I did that I stopped getting spam comments - I have had to reset it once, but it works like a charm. Before I would get about 30 spams a day
ReplyDeleteI don't allow anonymous comments. I'm not sure how I did that, but it's somewhere in the settings.
ReplyDeleteIntense debate seems to work well for me at keeping spammers at bay.
ReplyDeletePhew - how I hat spam(mers)! But like Hilary, I started using CommentLuv and then it came with that 'confirm you're not a spammer' box and that works just great. Since I installed it about 3 or 4 weeks ago, I had maybe 2 spam comments creep in there.
