Unluckily in Love: Fragments of Love

Note: Unluckily in Love: Fragments of Love is an episodic BL visual novel which will be released in several instalments over a course of 1-2 years. It is a linear story with no choices or branches and it contains explicit adult content. So far two episode out of ten have been released. The first episode was made for YaoiJam 2024.
This visual novel is a sequel to Unluckily in Love, but you don't need to read UiL to understand the story.

Yuel’s life was miserable. Though born into a wealthy family, Yuel’s parents divorced when he was young and his father was cold and callous. Desperate to earn his father’s affection (or, failing that, his approval), Yuel worked hard at university, studying for a degree he wasn’t truly interested in…

Until his father’s sudden death puts a wrench in Yuel’s plans.

Feeling lost and bereft, Yuel seeks help from his older cousin, Tavi, who agrees to take Yuel in while he’s coming to terms with his father’s death. This was only ever supposed to be a temporary arrangement, but feelings begin to grow between the two that are more than just familial.

Now, with his father’s funeral behind him and a hefty inheritance he’s set to earn, Yuel must try to muddle along as best he can while living with Tavi.

It’ll be a while until Yuel comes into his father’s money, so until then, the two need to stay afloat as best they can, all while trying to maintain their unusual relationship. Will they be able to succeed, or will it end in disaster?

Yuel starts to work at a small café, The Smiling Scone, at Tavi’s behest. He meets his new co-workers: the cheerful Kai, the haughty Evangeline, and perpetually fed up Zeke. Things seem to be going well...

Until Evangeline suggests that they should all dress up in maid outfits for Halloween.

Yuel and Tavi get into an argument over the most important thing in the world: gacha game waifus.

In an earnest attempt to make it up to Yuel, Tavi takes Yuel out on a date to the British Museum — but they soon run into a familiar face from Yuel’s past.
