This exercise is actually working the leg that is planted on the ground as it has to stabilize and level the hips while also pushing into the wall.

This one is especially useful because it’s only as difficult as you make it. 

If you’re a beginner, push gently into the wall just to feel the contraction..

If you’re more advanced, this can be used as an ISO push exercise where you’re pushing into the wall with MAX effort.

You’ll get a lot better return from an exercise Iike this compared to more open-chain and banded work.
