The process was a relatively simple but very tedious one. Furring strips to support the beadboard, then measure, cut, fit, trim, fit, nail, repeat. Some people suggested using the beadboard plywood to reduce the need for individual pieces, but that would have been 10x harder. The joists are old, slightly twisted, and not straight, so the cuts to get a good and tight fit would have been very difficult.
