i guess they help maintain a medium scale transit op
that truck right there was driving on regular roads
luci be like 'we have 10 items to ship, let's wait until 100000 other people have 10 items to ship so we can use a train'
You think people at Mercedes/Daimler/Chrysler/Renault/Volvo/Scania/Bosh are absolute retards and don't know how to build EV haulers?
Those are all involved in this
@svarozhyc eternal question of whether to ship by truck train plane or ship
you can make an electric engine as powerful as you want
You think that they can solve an intrinsic problem with EV haulers in secret without anybody knowing about it?
its not like electric engines are inherently not powerful
what do you think theyve used in factories for a hundred years?
..... motors
not engines
its just the specific engines people put into small elecric cars have a reputation of being not powerful
Keyword **BATTERIES**
and?
that being said there are also electric sports cars
have you never heard of those?
If you have overhead freaking lines, it is irrelevant and your EV can tow the same as any railroad train
until the lines get taken out
just add a flux compasitor and what you order today you will recieve yeasterday
^
luci is correct.
petrol is versatile until there's petrol
but yeah electric sports cars are a thing
🤷
@Lucienne d'Anwyl Electric motors in EVs are damn powerful, but they have to haul a lot more dead weight of batteries, compared to the internal combustion cars
Its simple. A snowstorm or power outage can destroy all shipping in trucks if this is a thing.
with comparable acceleration and speeds to other sports cars
the limiting factor right now is battery capacity
or you know
don't they already do that louis?
no matter the mode of transport?
not exactly
practicality of having massive railine grade cables constructed over every major road in the country
unless its physically impossible to go on the road
and then having to maintain them under far worse conditions than any railway wire ever suffered
i mean i guess there's different levels of risk
and necessary mitigation coming with them
neither snowstorm nor power outtage stops trucks lol
