The danger here -- and I'm not accusing him of this -- is creating an in-group (people with our views) vs. out-group (people without our views) distinction, and then saying "there's no use appealing to normies." People use that as an excuse to be careless and remain fringe.

I personally don't think we need to convince *anyone*. If we just focus on improving ourselves and the optics of our movement, people will naturally gravitate to our side imo. As soon as we try to convince people of something they will retaliate.
