Tia Dalma's shack was a sprawling wooden shack that served as the home to the voodoo priestess, Tia Dalma, perched in a treetop by the mouth of the Pantano River located in Cuba. A damp and gloomy world where nothing is quite what it seems to be, Tia Dalma kept various trinkets and spells inside her shack. The journey to the tumbledown shack was not an easy one, as adventurers had to cautiously paddle up the still water of a steamy bayou, located in a spooky cypress forest, where fireflies…

As the explorer trudged through the thick, humid air of the Louisiana swamp, his feet sinking into the murky water with every step, he spotted a small, dilapidated shack nestled among the trees. As he approached, he saw strange symbols etched into the wooden walls and a pungent smell of herbs and incense emanating from within. Heart racing, he realizes he has stumbled upon a voodoo shack, rumored to exist in the depths of the Louisiana swamps.

Here is my new project in which I wanted to explore different techniques for creating organic environments. It was inspired by Louisiana's swamps and the Florida Everglades. Most of the meshes were made in Maya and sculpted in Zbrush, except for the tarp on the roof which was first made in Marvelous Designer and then sculpted in Zbrush. All the assets were textured in Substance Painter and Substance Designer. One of my main goals was to learn how to approach making natural environments…
