Dear.....11.30.10

Dear…

Woo-Hoo.  Time again for our Dear...... Letters.  Where we can write those letters that will either be good or bad.

I'm going to keep doing this, week after week, month after month, year after year, until I have so many people linking up that I just have overtaken the world.  And then all the morning news programs will have me on their shows, asking how it was that I, Dazee Dreamer, became such a worldwide sensation.  Haha, and then I woke up.

Let's get this show on the road, shall we.

Dear Car Dealership Commercial Announcer Dude.  Please for the love of my ears, stop screaming at the top of your lungs about the car deals.....deals.....deals.   Maybe if the commercial dudes would TURN DOWN THE MUSIC you wouldn't have to announce so loud.  And fasting talking dude at the end, what the hell did you just say?

Dear Santa, I would really like a Keurig One Cup Coffee Maker for Christmas.  I've been a really good girl.  Check your list, it's there. :)

Dear Snow.  I know for a fact that there are people in other places that are awaiting your arrival.  Please go visit them.  I promise to miss you.  (crossing fingers)

Dear Tattooed Dude on The Amazing Race.  What the hell dude!!  Giving up on the challenge after your girlfriend ate all that disgusting food.  What a baby.  I am not impressed.  I'm totally impressed with her tho.

Dear HOA.  Don't we pay a lot of money every month for things.  I know that you really keep track of what we are not doing in our yards.  Do you think you could maybe get off your lazy butts and shovel by the mailboxes?  I totally almost biffed it today.  Just sayin'.

Dear Random.Org.  Please let my number come up on one of the many give-a-ways I've entered.  I'm getting a wee bit jealous of others.

Dear Followers.  Please excuse my use of the word hell.  I don't mean to offend.

Whew.  Such a liberating feeling.  You too could feel as good as me.  I'd love to read all your Dear....... letters.  Do it, make me happy :)

You Know You're Having Too Much Fun - Chapter 2

What a weekend.  My oh my.  Remember last time my cousin was in town.  I wrote all about it in Chapter 1 .  Well, she was in town for another fun filled weekend.

To start the weekend off right, we headed to a local place for a nummy breakfast.  It became a whole lot nummier when some men in uniform showed up.  Yeah, I'll take fireman number 1 with cream and sugar please.  I have to say, my cousin was "pretending" to take a picture of me.  Yup, that's my big arm in the picture.  What a girl.

We were supposed to have uninterrupted us time for Saturday and Sunday.  "Supposed" to being the key word.  They were coming here for Thanksgiving anyway, but then her husbands grandma died, so his whole family came to town.  Funeral was Friday.  Oh, but hey, since everyone is here, husbands sister decided, hell, lets get married on Saturday.  Ummmmm, alrighty then.  You have now cut into our time.  But cousin cleared it with the bride and groom that Dazee could go to the family only wedding.  (much to the displeasure of girl talking to guy in picture below)
Here is cousin at the wedding.  One of the other sisters (also in this picture) decided that they would stream ribbon on the chairs, ON THE SIDE THAT EVERYONE NEEDS TO GET IN THE SEATS ON.  So you had to lift yourself up over the darn things to get in the row.  Yeah, it took three shots with the camera to get the fake trip just right, but hey, if you can't have fun at a wedding, then it's just not worth it.  Notice the arrows pointing out the flowers.  These were the flowers from grandma's funeral.  ????????

Next stop, Time for hair.  Yippee-ya-hooey.  At least they know we are goonballs there.  This is the color I'm getting my hair done in.  I bet you can hardly wait to see how the blue looks.

While I'm sitting under the dryer my cousin and her hair girl were talking about me.  Oh, they were pretending they were trying to talk to me.  It turned into a booger war.  Yup, shooting pretend boogers across the room at each other.  Yeah, I'm in my 50's, and your point is?

This is me sporting the fine mohawk Santa look.  Don't be jealous

This is cousin sporting the very popular Little House on the Prairie look.
Oh yes, we are rocking the looks.

And ta-da.  Cousin's look.  She's working it.  Strike a pose.  Vogue
Santa Dazee look.  Not so rocking it.  At least I showed you a picture.  Hey, where's the freaking blue?

I have to say, I have the funnest times ever with my cousin.  We laugh so freaking hard that my stomach hurts for days.

We will rent ourselves out to you for any "FUN NEEDED AT" adventures.  You pay the airfare and hotel fees, we'll provide the entertainment.  :)

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - 11.28.10

I'm so excited for today's pictures.  Thanks to Ashley at Ramblings and Photos for giving me the excuse to take pictures. :)

1.Black and White

For all of you that live where you don't get snow, this is called a snow storm.  What some of you get, which I call a "dusting", try driving in this.

2.I Ate This...

Ok, don't judge a book by it's cover.  This is the best homemade banana cream pie ever.  Even if I have to say so myself :)

3.Historic

There is a place called Gardner Village in Salt Lake.  They have taken old homes from the 1700's and moved them to this place.  They are all stores that you can shop in.  It is such an awesome place.
This store is Santa's workshop right now.  You should see Gardner Village during Halloween. Nothing but witches.

This is my cousin.  She really needed to go.  :)

4.Off-Center

One year for Christmas my mom gave all her daughters a doll that reminded her of them.  I think it was the curly hair on this one that reminded her of me.

5.The End

After the end of a long day, this is what it looks like when the kids have a sleepover.

If you haven't played along with Ashley, you really should.  It is fun to come up with the subjects she gives us.  Next weeks are:

1. In My Home
2. It's beginning to look a lot like...
3. Sweet Treat
4. Time
5. Everyday

Where's Baby Jesus?

Yesterday was a big day around our house.  Time for the tree to go up.  My hubby is the best.  He should be a professional putter of the lights on the christmas tree dude.

As I have mentioned, we are finally able to put up a tree and decorations this year because we aren't in a small extended stay.  To say that I am overjoyed would be an understatement.

I have to say, our fireplace is great for putting decorations on.  As you can see, we have the nativity figures on the right hand side.  When we were putting them up, we questioned how long our 3 year old granddaughter would be able to keep her hands off of it and playing with them.

She came up while bapa was stringing lights, and was amusing herself while I was spending time on the computer, doing what I do best, vegging. :)  When she went back down to her house, and I ventured out into the family room, I walked over to the fireplace to take another look.

We are now going to play a little game of "Where's Baby Jesus?"  Do you see him in the manger?  No?......Look closely.......Did you find him yet........
Oh, there he is, sleeping on the camel.  At least the angel was watching over him.

Little kids.  They really do make the season bright.

Why I'm Thankful Thanksgiving Is Over

Yeah, I said it.  I have seen a ton of blogs that are putting what they are thankful for today.  I'm going to tell you what I am thankful for, just with a twist.  Why, say it with me, because I don't follow the rules.

#10.  I'm thankful that dinner is over and the mess it cleaned up.  The closest thing to a cook/maid that I have is my hubby, and he rocks at helping.  He is one step behind me keeping the dishes washed and put away, so that we don't have a big ole, man I hate Thanksgiving dishes feeling after it is over.

#9.  I am thankful we can finally put up the tree.  I know some of you have your stuff up already, but I'm a diehard, has to wait till after Thanksgiving kind of gal.

#8.  I am thankful that we don't go do all the black friday madness.  Now that I've said that tho, I'm sure hubby will find something in the ads that we just have to go buy between their window of sale.  And no, it's won't be at the butt crack of dawn.
#7.  I am thankful that there is only one month until Christmas.  I just wish I had my shopping done.

#6.  I am thankful that my kids put up with my wackiness at the dinner table.  Feel sorry for them, feel very, very sorry.
#5.  I am thankful that turkey gives you an excuse to take a nap.

#4.  I am thankful for leftovers.  Especially the banana cream pie.

#3.  I am thankful for insulin that allows me to keep eating said pie.  I'm not thankful for the needle that sometimes hurts me tho.

#2.  I am thankful that my grandkids have a bapa that plays games like monster, mean zoo keeper, and every other game they come up with to play.  That leaves time for grammie to just be the lazy woman that she is. :)

#1.  I am thankful that I have found the world of blogging.  Thanks to my daughter Mindi.  It has opened up a whole new life for me.  Thanks to my hubby for not getting too upset with me for putting all my weirdness out there.  Now the world sees what he has had to put up with for 33 years.

 Let the shopping begin.

The Twilight Zone - Turkey Bowl

Imagine if you will the Store 3 Team.  Young men with the average age of 26.  If you didn't read about the challenge, read it here

They are going against the Store 4 Team, average age 40
Store 3 team "cheated" and tied their flags to their clothes.  Unfair advantage, penalty 15 yards.

Store 4 opening quarterback was a little on the slow side
And was always getting "tackled".  Time for new quarterback.

Thing about younger guys, they never watch the older guys.  3 touchdowns scored by older guys.  woot-woot

Young team feeling mighty dumb
Old guys win the game!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to all that celebrate it.
Happy Thursday to those that don't. :)

And to all of you having Turkey Bowl games today.  Remember, it's call FLAG FOOTBALL.  Be safe and prosper.

A Thanksgiving Tale

Believe it or not, once upon a time, I was a teenager.  I know huh.  Anypimpleslater, we were getting ready for Thanksgiving Dinner.  My mom asked me to drive up to the local store, can't remember the name, but you know, kind of like a Walgreens type store, and get a gold bowl.  On it mom, because I had just barely gotten my license (or hadn't gotten it yet, don't tell the cops) and I was all for driving anywhere.

I head into the store.  Why is the heck was mom asking for a gold bowl.  I looked all over the darn store for one.  I didn't want to go home empty handed and upset my mom.  Woo-hoo, I finally found one.  Drove home, walked in the kitchen handed over the bowl with a big ole smile, and my mom says, "what is this?"  I'm like, a gold bowl.  Just like you asked for.   No she says, I asked you to get me....wait for it.......

A Gold BOW!  What the?  How in the heck did I hear bowl.  But hey, I got to drive myself back to get the bow.  Bonus

Of course, the other item that I will never live down in my family is the turkey gravy fiasco.  I don't know about you, but I love me some homemade mashed potatoes and gravy on Thanksgiving.  So of course, I spoon me up a nice helping, pour on a heap of gravy, and dig in.  Oh, my.  What in the heck is that taste?  "Mom", I say, "this gravy doesn't taste right".  She asks what it tastes like.  I spout out.....wait for it...........

Homemade play dough.  What?  Don't tell me you never took a bite of the play dough your mom made.  Hell, it's nothing but flour, salt and water.

What are the ingredients of homemade gravy?  Buehler? Buehler?  Flour, salt, turkey drippings.  You get what I'm saying.  Maybe not, but I said it, ok.  And to this day, oh so many moons later, I'm still reminded of it when we sit down as a huge extended family for dinner.

Have you ever done anything slightly stupid?  Or is it just me?

Dear.....11.23.10

Dear…

Good morning/afternoon/evening to you all.  It's time once again for our Dear...... letters.  Where we get to write of the things that make us happy or sad.  Don't be shy, link on up.  I know you want to.  You're just afraid.  Come on, I'll hold your hand.  It's easy.

Dear dude driving the car in front of me.  It's called a gas pedal.  Use it.

Dear cell phone callers.  I do not like to hear myself talking to you on your phone.  Please hang up and call back when you can hear an echo.

Dear Wind.  I totally understand the whole "blowing in a storm" thing, but could you blow a little harder or faster to get that darn storm here.  Thanks

Dear Brain.  I can appreciate that when you are dreaming you are trying to sort out the days activities.  But could you please just make those dreams "normal" and not some weirded out stuff.  Otherwise, thanks for the overnight movie.

Dear People That Put An Ad Online.  If you are going to want to sell your item, it might be a good thing to maybe answer the phone when prospective buyers call.  Or better yet, this certain person, maybe your phone number would help too.

Dear Confessions Of A Cashier .  I love to read your blog, but now everytime I say something to the cashier wherever I go, I'm afraid that they are going to do a blog on it.  I do appreciate all that I am learning from you so I don't do some of the stuff that you bring up on your posts.  Thanks for not spitting on my change.

Dear Ice Maker Machine here at work.  You are sooo awesome.  I love the ice you make.  But most of all, I love the feeling I get when I get to unblock the ice that is stuck.  It gives me a rush when all that ice comes tumbling down.  Please never leave me.

Dear followers.  I hope that you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Unless you are not in the United States, then I hope that you all just have a wonderful week.

Whew, Our Skies Are Safe Once Again

Gotta love the new TSA rules.  I'm all kinds of pissed at this happening.  No little kid should ever have to be searched by some stranger at the airport.  Apparently the little boy set off the medal detector.  So pat down is supposed to insue.  Honestly I can understand an adult "maybe" being patted down, but not a child.  The father was so mad he took the kids shirt off to prove that the kid wasn't a terrorist, but in my mind the TSA agent should have taken his hands off the kid at that point.  But as you can see, that didn't happen.

I remember when I was a kid having to go to the doctor and I didn't even want the damn doctor to see or touch me.  I remember it to this day.  I can't even imagine what this kid is going to go through.

I think the TSA has stepped over the line this time.  In fact, I don't think I even want to fly the unfriendly skies anymore.  They are either looking at your naked body, or giving you a pat down.  Are we headed out on a fun filled vacation, or checking in to our local jail.  I'm just waiting for the announcement to, please disrobe, bend over and spread em.

Oh, and this happened at the Salt Lake International Airport, where I live, so you know, I had to watch this video, over and over and over on the news.  My heart just hurts for that little boy.  That is just wrong in so many ways!!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday 11.21.10

Yay, it's time again to follow Ashley at Rambling and Photos.  Some of these were a lot harder to get than others.

1.The View Above

The other day when the sun was coming up, it put such a great glow on the clouds.  I was at work, but just was drawn to the sight of it.

2.Something Hot

I'm a little bit mad that the stove looked like we don't clean it.  We do, I promise.

3.Something Cold

This is a great picture.  There is a farmer that lives by us that tries to get as much irrigation water as he can.  Sometimes you have to wonder about him.  My daughter actually got this picture.  I think it is awesome.

4.Electronic

In some areas of town we have some really cool looking electrical wires.  I'm learning that there is beauty in all things.

5.Sparkle

Driving to work in the mornings when it is dark, gives such a sparkle to things.

This is so much fun.  Plus it gives me an excuse to use my camera.  We all know that me and my camera are like this. *crosses fingers*

If you would like to play along next week, here are the subjects.

1.Black and White
2.I Ate This...
3.Historic
4.Off-Center
5.The End
Wow, this one looks like an interesting one.  Oh well, let the photo taking begin
