Tonight I went to my first class at the University of Alberta, I'm taking one night class there. Was it ever freezing outside tonight, so cold that by the time I left the university and got to my car my fingers were so cold that they were hurting and I was only outside for about 15 minutes, mind you I didn't have my gloves on like a nut. This is getting insane, it was about -35 with the wind chill.
So what else to post tonight but more winter photos. The one I wanted to post keeps coming up sideways and I don't have the time to mess around with it, I have to be up bright and early for a morning class. Oh joy, let the studies commence!
Winter in Alberta, what more can I say besides it's damn cold!
Spot hogging all the snow I want some ;-} What you need is a pair of gloves with a long piece of string between them so you can hang them around your neck.
ReplyDeleteSi x
Our big "storm" dumped a whole 2"-3" like I said yesterday. Now it's done! No real snow in the forecast for the next week! I got all the walks shoveled at the hotels yesterday morning and the sun actually came out in the afternoon and melted the residual stuff off! I came in this morning to clean dry walks! :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you get a break from your snow for a while! It sounds like you have been working way too hard lately! I think you deserve a break! :)
Sending sunny thoughts your way today! :) Have a great one!
I can commiserate with you on the cold part, we're about 10 degrees warmer than you though. It does seem as if the snow will not stop though, doesn't it??
ReplyDeleteSi anytime you want snow you just come on over and help yourself, take as much as you want and then some for your neighbors! lol Cheers (note I'm not commenting on my gloves! ;-) )
ReplyDeleteAndy, lucky duck! lol Are you not posting lately? I haven't seen anything on my dashboard lately that you've posted and I just want to ensure that I'm not missing your posts if you are posting. I had an issue with one other blogger friends posts not appearing on dashboard and we had one heck of a time to get it working.
Joyce, I think that God gave us winter to teach us all how to slow down a tad bit. :-) Problem is that I'm going so slow lately I'm almost going backwards! lol It does seem that this snow will never stop but the good thing is that we can connect to parts of the world where the sun shines and flowers are in bloom, that helps me to keep the sunshine in my heart. Have a great day!
I posted a couple new reviews earlier this week but other than that I'm still trying to get back in the swing of things after all the craziness we had over Christmas! I'm hoping to get part 7 of my story posted soon but we'll see how things go! :)
ReplyDeleteI got Tammy set up with her blog last night! :) She hasn't posted anything yet but it's coming! :)
It seems we all have to keep putting up with this white stuff...far too long...funny thing is though, as much as I dream for spring, photos like yours here, are just so darn lovely...I'm renaming our state to Minnesnowta!
ReplyDeleteThat's a good new name, I wonder if Alberasnowalot would work? lol
ReplyDeleteBrrr - got a chill just from looking at your 'lovely' photos (figured I'd better use quotes there - beauty is in the eye of the beholder, not the frozen one). I do recall -43C in Calgary (not incl. windchill) - tires on my pickup were 'square' for about 5 km till they warmer up and became round again !
ReplyDeleteIf it'll make you feel better, we got back up to 20C here today ;-)
Stay warm - and wear those mitts !
Rick I feel so much better hearing that you got up to 20, now I know where the plane is going to take me! lol
ReplyDeleteThe square tire thing, oh ya, I can relate... clunk, clunk, whoooooosh (siiding), clunk, clunk, clunk after you gain control of your vehicle again. It's hard to stop the vehicle with square tires, they don't want to stop for some odd reason.
Note to self.... wear mitts. K got it! :-) Enjoy that sunshine and make sure you wear suntan lotion, don't want you burnt to a crisp and too sore to take those magnificent photos. Speaking of photos, how did the rest of your photo shoot go? Details Rick, need details here. :-)
Hi Darlene - gonna play catch up on visits and comments again tonight.
ReplyDeleteI think the photo shoots went fairly well - I shot 10 kitchens in 4 days - all over town, and 1 about 70 km away. But I spent more time afterwards doing post processing (with Photomatix) to get both interior and exterior exposures looking as natural as possible than I did at the shoots. Now I'm waiting for the client to review the photos (I think I shot close to 1,000 - but each final photo is made up of 4-5 shots at different exposures). I hope it meets their expectations. This is a new area for me - keep checking Home and Garden ;-)
Oh and no danger of a sunburn here - spring-like temps - low 20's.
Rick, that's a lot of photos and I'm sure that your photos will be over and beyond their expectations or what they were looking for. Keep us posted k? I can't wait to see them!
ReplyDeleteAwww, only low 20's? I feel for you! lol
