Anni Albers was one of the most influential textile designers of the twentieth century. Her design work spanned different disciplines, from weaving to printmaking and throughout her career she demonstrated a fascination with material, geometry and pattern. Born in Berlin, she studied at the Bauhaus from age 22, taught by some of the pioneers of modern design, including Paul Klee, and Wassily Kandinsky and it was here that she met her husband, Josef Albers, an artist and teacher.
