Time to scrap those photos from Christmas!

How was your Christmas? I hope you took lots of photos of family, friends, pets, decor.... So now it's time to start scrapping those photos. Take a minute to go look at the December Most Wonderful Time of the Year kit, Add on kit, and Stamp Set from Scraptastic Club. So many goodies and just the most perfect colors to coordinate with Christmas reds.

That being said, I wanted to scrap some of my Disney holiday photos using the kit too. These are photos as we arrived at Magic Kingdom for the Very Merry Christmas Party. Oh and I even remembered to use our wrist bands on the layout!  I always say I will use memorabilia but normally I forget.

The "ribbon" is actually the fabric that the roses are made from in the kit. I didn't have a spot for a rose for this page but I loved that green fabric so I took apart one of the roses and used the fabric to tie thru the hole of the tag.

I added some green enamel dots by Simple Stories from the Scraptastic Club Store HERE

Santa Claus is coming to town!

Happy Holidays Everyone! What did you ask Santa for? I always ask for a gift card for scrapbooking supplies because my husband is well aware of my supplies, but picking them out is not his forte. LOL! So if you suddenly find yourself needing to spend the holiday gift card, check out the awesome new products at the new Scraptastic Store! There are so many wonderful holiday collections and just sparkly pretty things for all of your holiday paper crafting.

For my layout today I used papers from the Merry and Bright collection from Pink Paislee and then I have accented with my favorite alphas ever - the Candy Cane Thickers, Freckled Fawn Stars and Such Wood Chips, and a sprinkle of the Fancy Pants Oh Deer! Sequins.

Supplies: Patterned Paper ( Pink Paislee Merry & Bright Reindeer Paper), ( Pink Paislee Merry & Bright Poinsettia Paper), (Pink Paislee Merry & Bright Handmade Holiday Paper ), (Pink Paislee Merry & Bright Snow Paper ), (Pink Paislee Merry & Bright Wreath Paper ), (Pink Paislee Merry & Bright Bow Paper ), Chipboard Alphas (the Candy Cane Thickers), Sequins (Fancy Pants Oh Deer! Sequins), Wood Chips (Freckled Fawn Stars and Such Wood Chips), Flair (Fancy Pants Designs Oh Deer! Flair ), little letter stickers (Webster's Pages Gingerbread Village Little Letter Stickers Red )

I began with the grey pin stripe Pink Paislee Merry & Bright Reindeer Paper for the background, next I cut apart a full piece of the tiny dot side of the Pink Paislee Merry & Bright Poinsettia Paper and reassembled it over the background paper. Before mounting the pieces on the background, I punched a few stars and scraped the edges of the paper. This creates depth in the background without distracting from the photo too much.

Under the photo layers I wanted a giant snowflake, so I hand cut a snowflake from plain printer paper. Combining embellishments and alphas creates a fun title, so I added Fancy Pants Designs Oh Deer! Flair as the "O" in Jolly.

I hope you all have a wonderful and safe holiday with family and friends! Don't forget to take alot of photos so you can join us back here for some scrapbooking next week!

Oh Deer!

Today I want to show you some of the "Oh Deer!" collection by Fancy Pants from the Scraptastic Store. This cute collection has some refreshing non-traditional holiday colors. In addition to the great papers, I used the awesome Sequins and Flair, and the big pack of 3x4" and 4x6" cards. I don't really do the pocket style of scrapbooking very often, but I still love to buy the pocket sized cards for my layouts so I thought I would share some of the ways I like to use these cards when they aren't going in a pocket.

First I created a layout and used the Oh Deer card as part of the focus, but I punched snowflakes from the sides, stitched across the lower edge and I had to add a red sequin nose so he would match the deer in my yard. I mounted the card with foam tape for dimension so the snowflakes would show up a bit better.

Supplies: Patterned Paper (Fancy Pants Designs, Oh Deer!, Wonder Paper), Cards (Fancy Pants Designs Oh Deer! Brag Cards ), Flair (Fancy Pants Designs, Oh Deer! Flair), Sequins (Fancy Pants Designs Oh Deer! Sequins), Chipboard Alphabet (Jillibean Soup Holly Berry Borscht Beanboard Alphas Wood Planks), Alpha Stickers (Elle's Studio Letter & Number Stickers Dark Gray )

You can probably see that the coral colored block is a 3x4" card and I cut a strip and put it directly below with an arrow shaped piece that I cut from a green card. The great thing about this card set is that it has quite a few that are like patterned paper blocks, but card weight and smaller scale prints. I cut the blue snowflake print flag from one of the 4x6" cards and the calendar is cut from one of the blocks as well.

After I finished my layout I decided that I should go ahead and make a mini card to use as a gift tag while I had all the cute products out. I used a 4x6" dotted card folded in half as the card shape, then I cut 1/8" from the edges of the "noel" card and punched the snowflake shape from the background like I had done with the layout. After adding a stitched edge and a sequin the little card tag is finished and only took about 2 minutes to complete. I can use it on a gift during the holidays, as a hidden journaling spot on a layout, or even in my December Daily album if I ever get started on that. :)

His name is Trogdor! Scraptastic Club December Kit

For this layout I used  the December "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" kit   adding a piece of black and white patterned paper from last month's Free Fallin' kit. This is my son's elf and his name is Trogdor. I got him the elf even though he is grown up because I wanted him to have this tradition for his kids. We all had fun seeing what this dude would do each day.

Holiday Cheer! *December Scraptastic Club kit

The Most Wonder Time of the Year kit, add on kit, and Stamp Set from Scraptastic Club is FULL of Holiday Cheer! It's so much fun to play with and I wish I had more time right now to scrap because it is calling my name! Here is one layout that I did using some of the super cute holiday wood veneers. I layered a couple of pieces and I just love the way it turned out. I also really love the look of the black doily in this kit.

We were at Gaston's Tavern at Disney World and of course Gaston (from Beauty and the Beast) says that he has "antlers in all of his decorating" and I just thought it was so cool that he even has antlers in all of his holiday decorating!  It was so beautiful there for the holiday season and you will be seeing an annoying amount of photos of the decor on my layouts.

Just look at that deer and the lights! It's a Scraptastic exclusive and it's totally one of my favorite elements. Also if you look at the circle die cut under the deer, I stamped a dotty circle stamp from the Heartbeats Stamp Set using gold tinsel embossing powder. The Tis the Season stamp is from the Most Wonderful Time of the Year Stamp set.

December Sketchy Thursday at Scraptastic

Surprise! Sketchy Thursday is a week early this month at the Scraptastic Blog (HERE) so that everyone can play along for a chance to at the monthly prize! I know everyone is busy with the holidays but I had fun with this sketch and I hope you will too.

For my example I used the "Most Wonderful Time of the Year" kit, Add on Kit, and Stamp Set.

I stamped the "oh what fun" image using black tinsel embossing powder so it's sparkly. Love that stamp set! I also used a dotty circle stamp from the Heartbeats Stamp Set and I only inked bits of it to make little clusters of dots.

Sparkling Holiday Stack by DCWV

I always like my holidays sparkling and my layouts too, so this is definitely a fun new stack for me.

Have you seen the new goodies from DCWV for the holidays?

For my layout I used mostly papers from the Sparkling Holiday Stack with a pop of red paper from the Candy Cane Lane Stack. Here are a couple of photos I took of the covers so you could see the stacks.

I also used a really great embossed gold paper from the DCWV Premium Paper collection to cut out my title letters. It's tough to get a photo that will do this gold paper justice though.

And if you look below the 25 there is a row of gold bling. Its a new product from DCWV called an Adhesive Jewel sheet. It's a 8.5 x 11" sheet, so I cut a strip to use on my page but even though it looks and feels like rhinestones, its a product that you can cut with scissors so you could actually cut out any shape you like. Pretty cool and you have to see it in person to really understand.

Believe! Scraptastic Club STORE

Happy Holidays everyone! Today I want to share some really festive new holiday products from the Scraptastic Club Store. I used mostly the Authentique Believe collection of papers with some of the coordinating stickers.

Supplies: Patterned Papers (Authentique Believe Homeward Paper ), (Authentique Believe Tidings Paper),(Authentique Believe Essence Paper ), Stickers (Authentique Believe 12x12 Details Cardstock Stickers ), Doily (Maggie Holmes Open Book White & Gold Doilies ), Die cut frame (Maggie Holmes Open Book Ephemera ), Die cut flowers (Maggie Holmes Open Book Printed Flowers), Enamel Dots ( Gossamer Blue Get Happy Enamel Dots ), Chipboard Alpha (Pebbles Home for Christmas Glittered Candy Cane Thickers )

I added the Maggie Holmes white doily behind the edge of one of the papers and layered a couple of the Authentique Believe stickers with a Maggie Holmes Open Book gold frame and vellum flower die cuts. And how could I resist these sparkly Candy Cane Thickers!?

For the dimensional look of the holly, I hand cut the leaves, machine straight stitched down the center, and folded the leaves slightly before attaching. I also splattered a bit of silver mist, but it didn't photograph very well.

November Sketchy Thursday from Scraptastic Club

Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope everyone has a wonderful feast planned for today. And then pull out your scrapping things and create a page for the November Sketchy Thursday at Scraptastic Club Blog for a chance to win!

Here is the Sketch

For my layout I used the Free Fallin' kit and Add on Kit.  I kept pretty close to the original sketch since I drew it, but I didn't have a big title and I wanted to use the little chipboard deer. I really like the way it turned out. I hope you will give it a try. I look forward to seeing your interpretation.

More Free Fallin' kit from Scraptastic Club

Its feeling a little more like fall and its almost time to make turkey! Is yours defrosted?! Mine get's brined tomorrow :)  I know you guys are in the mood for some yummy fall goodies and all things pumpkin! I wanted to share two more layouts that I created with the November Scraptastic Club Free Fallin Kit, Add on kit and Stamp set.

First I saw the little stamp that says "#PUMPKINEVERYTHING" and I knew I had to do a page about my love of those fall favorites. I stamped that word stamp on the note paper die cut and then stamped the "#APPLECIDER" one on the apple cider photo. Its not pumpkin but its a fall fave here.

I used the nice dark wood grain paper as a background and then cut pieces of "wood" out so that I could put orange checked paper behind.

For my next layout I wanted to use a bunch of the embellishments in this fall kit because there are just so many cute pieces! I decided to do a page using only the embellishments and one 4x6 panel cut from patterned paper. I almost kept going and filled the page with embellishments, but I decided it would be a bit overwhelming.

Hello Autumn - Scraptastic Club Store

Today I just have to share a layout using Bella Blvd's Hello Autumn collection from Scraptastic Club Store. I just love all the colors in this collection. It's even ideal for people like me who live where fall is mostly green. I actually decided it would be perfect for a photo that I took last week at a meal with Mickey since he was dressed for a fall harvest at the Garden Grill Restaurant at Epcot.

Supplies: Patterned Paper (Bella Blvd Hello Autumn, Falling Into Fall Paper), Patterned Paper (Bella Blvd Hello Autumn, Gatherings Paper), Patterned Paper (Bella Blvd Hello Autumn,Perfect Pick Paper), Patterned Paper (Bella Blvd Hello Autumn, Time To Rake Paper), Die Cuts (Bella Blvd Hello Autumn, Paper Pieces), Enamel Dots (Gossamer Blue, Gramercy Road Enamel Dots),  Enamel stars (Gossamer Blue, On My Desk Enamel Dots),  ivory cardstock, thread

Now I have to share a little story...  this photo was taken almost a week ago while on vacation and it was my birthday so we had a super busy day planned. We were trying to get to a reservation for breakfast and I left the room without my camera bag, back up batteries, and my phone. I had my camera, my husband had his camera, and his phone. We had no time to go back all day so we just had to make the best of it. By evening when this was taken, my camera battery was dead, and this was the last photo taken on the other camera...and for the rest of the evening we had to use a phone!!! LOL - actually I was NOT laughing at the time but its funny now. So yeah - not the best photo

When I was looking at the collection, I found this paper "Falling Into Fall" and decided that it would be perfect for fussy cutting a bunch of leaves that I could scatter down the page.

Since I wanted the leaves to really stand out, I cut my letters from ivory cardstock for a more subtle title.

Gossamer Blue enamel dots and stars match perfectly!

Scraptastic Store: Patterned Paper Backgrounds

If you haven't been over to Scraptastic Club's site in the past week or so, you may not have noticed that they now have a Store!!! I got some awesome new goodies and I just finished 2 layouts using the some of the gorgeous new Gossamer Blue products. Today I thought I would share my love for using patterned papers as backgrounds for my layouts. The key is to keep it light or to be sure you have good contrast to show off your photos. For both of my pages I used mostly the "Gramercy Road" collection. I love the very nice detailed papers that have great colors, but over all they read as lighter more neutral tones and they don't overwhelm the photos. There are several papers in this collection that make great background papers.

For my first layout I chose a lighter blue/grey pattern for the background and it has just enough of a pattern to keep the layout from looking as flat as it would with a solid paper. The light papers kept the page from becoming too busy because my photos are already busy and dark.  I also used one of the darker patterned papers to have nice contrast for my title. I used some old twine that I bought when I was antiquing to tie a double bow on the tag and then added a few of the die cut leaves to the ends.

Gossamer Blue Gramercy Road Sheridan Place Paper, Gossamer Blue Gramercy Road West Seventh Paper , Gossamer Blue Gramercy Road Tupelo Ridge Paper ,Gossamer Blue Gramercy Road Die Cut Tags ,Gossamer Blue On My Desk Gold Foil Transparencies , Gossamer Blue Gramercy Road Enamel Dots , Gossamer Blue Gramercy Road Die Cut Ephemera,

I have to point out the 3/4 transparency card from the "On My Desk" collection that I used behind my die cut tag, these cards are the perfect touch when your layout needs that extra something.

For my second layout I used a light wood grain paper from the Sweater Weather collection by Simple Stories and I may need 10 more sheets of this one! I wanted a more out door look for my safari photos. I thought it would be a great way to lighten up my animal photos. Often times, zoo or outdoor layouts are darker colors and the photos aren't the focus.

Simple Stories Sweater Weather Crisp Days Paper Gossamer Blue Gramercy Road West Seventh Paper, Gossamer Blue Gramercy Road Tupelo Ridge Paper , Gossamer Blue Gramercy Road The Third Ward Paper, Gossamer Blue Gramercy Road Die Cut Leaves , Gossamer Blue Gramercy Road Die Cut Tags , Gossamer Blue On My Desk Gold Foil Transparencies , Fancy Pants Designs True Friend Sequins , Gossamer Blue Gramercy Road Skinny Labels, Gossamer Blue Gramercy Road Die Cut Ephemera , Gossamer Blue Gramercy Road Enamel Dots ,

The package of tags and the package of die cut leaves helped me put together a very coordinated page in less time then my pages normally take. I added some white sequins to the leaves and straight stitched for a dimensional border.

Hashtag Fall - Nov Scraptastic Kit!

Can you believe its November?! Today I am sharing a layout that I made using the November Scraptastic Club Free Fallin Kit, Add on kit and Stamp set. I have to tell you guys that our leaves don't even fall til December around here, but when they do fall, my back yard looks all golden til the yard guy arrives and I wanted to take photos of my kitty with her fall colors in the leaves. She didn't want to do that, she just wanted to eat the leaves so I snapped a couple of photos and took her back inside.

For this page I decided to use a light cardstock background to lighten up my darker photos. I used the "#LEAFPILE" and "#AUTUMN" stamps with gold ink and then brushed gold paint lightly on the background. The little leaves are cut from this cute October Afternoon patterned paper. Some are stitched, some are just adhered to the page and a couple are mounted with foam tape for dimension.

and here is the super cute Free Fallin Stamp Set
November 2014 Free Fallin' Stamp Set

For my journaling I wanted a light grey but my grey marker is too bold so I used pencil. I find that I like the light grey journaling of a pencil alot lately.
