Thank you to those of you who stopped past last week and left lovely coments and here is my offering for WOYWW? this Wednesday.
On my WOYWW? last week I had bits and pieces set out to make a pink and chocolate card for the Penny Black Saturday Shabby Chic Challenge and this was the end result.
After completing that one I had enough bits and pieces left over to make another card and that is what I'm up to at the moment. I've got an Auntie with a birthday in September so I'm hoping the second one will be for her. She's also a card maker so I know she'll appreciate the effort taken to make it. It also means that I can't just throw anything together though.
The coloured image for the second card was my first attempt at colouring the image last week but the Promarker colours I'd chosen were warm peachy shades of pink rather than the cool lilac shades of the backing card I had wanted to use so I decided to start again and keep this first one to make another card. I'm following the sketch for this week's Penny Black Saturday Challenge to make the second card and have found cardstock with the same peachy pink tones to match.
Yesterday I was at Carol's Crafting Bee again and spent the time making the flowers and punching out the leaves to to decorate the card with and when I got home I tried spraying the brown leaves with Forest Green Glimmer Mist to give them the same green tinge as the coloured image. I also spent some of yesterday playing with the Fizzy Moon goodies I bought at the Papeterie a couple of weeks ago and put together some decoupage toppers for Christmas cards.
I had a really good day at Carol's yesterday as some of the other ladies were making shoes using the Coppernob Elegant Shoe template and basing their shoe designs and cards on the one I had made for Ruth's Pearl Wedding Anniversary.
I love paper pricking using Ornare metal stencils and use them to decorate these shoes and their boxes. Everyone had a go at the pricking too and some of the doubters of this technique have even been converted to the lovely effect it can create. It was a lovely feeling seeing everyone making their shoes inspired by the one I had made but each putting their own twist on it and then being delighted with their efforts. I only wish I had had a camera to photograph their cards to post on here. Carol and Heather both made shoe cards for their Mums, Ann made a seventieth birthday shoe card for her sister and Sandy made an elegant black and white shoe. Ruth, who first introduced me to this template, spent the afternoon making a Rob Adam shopping stretch card for her daughter who turned nineteen yesterday. Me, I just sat there with a warm fuzzy glow watching them. Crafting is certainly good for your well being if not for your bank balance.
Thanks for reading today's epic
