Chair Man

Morning All. It’s time for the first ever Digi Stamp Challenge over on the Little Claire Blog. Our first theme is an 'Open' one……so anything goes!  We are looking forward to seeing all of your entries, all that we ask is that you use only digi-images on your cards. It doesn’t have to be a Little Claire digi stamp but it would be fabulous if it was, and with such a versatile range of images it would be easy to find one you love (or two or three hehe). Please hop over to the Little Claire shop and take a look for yourself.

And the best bit, the lovely Gill from Little Claire has offered a wonderful prize for the winner of our first challenge…… TEN Little Claire Digi Stamp images of your choosing.

Here is my card using Chair Man, it’s a birthday card for my Father-in-Law. He is the last in a whole week of family birthdays which starts today with my little baby girl who is now 2 years old (I’ll pop back later and show you her card)! Well 7 cards to make straight into the New Year certainly keeps me busy once the Christmas Decorations come down lol.

Man in Chair

I made this card all backwards so I’m surprised it turned out so well. I coloured the image first, which I try not to do until I’ve at least picked papers better still made the card. Also the frame and patterned paper on the base were put together months ago for a magazine commission, but I changed my mind and didn’t use it….good job as the  colours fitted this perfectly! Minimal embellishment as it’s for a man, but I did manage to use a little ribbon in a masculine way….kind of!!

Please hop over to the Little Claire blog  and take a look at the cards my teamies have made to inspire you. And if you want to join in you have until 4pm (GMT) on Tuesday 10th February.

Supplies:

  • Image: Chair Man from Little Claire
  • Colouring Medium: Copics
  • DP: Papermania ‘Very Happy Birthday’ 12x12 Paper Pack
  • Card: Dark Green Bazzill Card, Copic X-Press It Blending Card and smooth white card
  • Sentiment: ‘A Tiny Little Wish to You’ stamp but available as both digi and stamp here
  • Dies & Punches: Go Kreate Ovals, Spellbinder Plain Circles and Spellbinder Radiant Rectangles
  • Embellishments: Ribbon, Card Candi and Alpha Letters covered in Stickles

21st Birthday Card…. A Masculine One

21st Male Birthday Card Close Up

OMG. Making a 21st Birthday card and not being able to go over the top with the pretty stuff was a really hard task. So I dug out one of my favourite Popcorn the Bear stamps, coloured him in with ProMarkers in the colours of the recipients favourite football team and added just a little bit of bling!

21st Male Birthday Card (5)

I’ve used a really large card blank for me (8x8) and to this I’ve added red and gray card from my stash, the red gingham patterned paper is from the Melissa Frances Kitsch in the Kitchen 6x6 paper pad. I’ve used a few dies on this card…a Marianne Designs Star Border Die, Sizzix Framelits Nesting Star Dies, X-Cut Square Parenthesis Nesting Dies (which with some clever rolling I cut an elongated version for the sentiment) and Nestability Circle Dies. The sentiment is from a Paula Pascual Personal Impressions set. The numbers are a clear stamp set (not sure of the make) and I have cut them out by hand. Also used some felt, ribbon, glitter glue and glossy accents.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Hope you all have a good day, I’m off to keep warm in the craft room after lunch.

Thanks for stopping by on this very chilly Saturday.

Hugs

Happy Friday everyone, but for me it means it’s nearly the end of my holiday which is a shame as little one has really been enjoying himself.

I’m here to share another Kanban make and this time I’ve made a CAS Birthday card which I think would be well suited to those difficult to make for men.

London Red Bus Card London Red Bus Card (2) London Red Bus Card

Birthday Celebrations at Sarah Hurley

Quite a few of us on Sarah’s DT have birthdays in March, me included. It’s Nicky turn to chose the challenge and as Nicky also has a birthday coming up she has chosen the theme for this challenge as:

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

IMG_5676IMG_5677

I’ve used papers, embellishments and images all from Sarah’s new Steampunk CD, which I have to say is absolutely fantastic. From someone who isn’t a great fan of the whole Steampunk theme, that's high praise. Sarah has managed a cute and quirky take on Steampunk which I really do love. The colour palatte on the CD is perfect for all those difficult masculine cards, and the images are perfect too.

These two cards are destined for my Nephews who are 22 and 24.

Please pop over to the main challenge blog and see what the rest of the team have made.

Playing Catch-up

I’m back again! Just popped Little One down for his nap and thought I would get this posted in peace and quiet. He’s been so tired this morning, bless him. I think he’s just worn out from a hectic few days, as he had his birthday party on Saturday, went to a Fun Factory on Sunday and it was his proper birthday yesterday.

Anyhoo, if you saw my earlier post you already knew I’m having major computer problems. I’m trying to get used to Hubby’s keyboard but I’m a touch typer and the keyboard layout is slightly wider so I keep hitting the Caps Lock Key by mistake instead of the A key, so if you see any random capital letters I apologise in advance.

So I’m a day late in sharing my card for this weeks Critter Sketch Challenge, which is a shame as it’s one of my favourite cards I have made.  It’s a sketch this week and it was a fabulous sketch to follow.

image

Here’s my card:

IMG_5615

I don’t make boy cards that often, but I picked up these Pink Paislee Papers just after Christmas and thought that together with the gorgeous ‘Whatzup Dog’ image by Crissy Armstrong (Whimsy Stamps) they would make a perfect boys card. My image was coloured with ProMarkers and I’ve also added a sentiment written on the computer, some stars cut with Sizzix Framelit Dies, and the notched corners on the sentiment were done with the corner of a Square X-Cut Punch.

I would like to enter my card into the Sundays with Crissy challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to pop over to the challenge blog and see what the rest of the team have made.

PCJ – Challenge 14

Some of you may remember a few weeks back I was a guest designer over at Paper Crafting Journey and the lovely Lisa asked me to join the DT.  Well this is my first challenge where the theme this challenge is:

FOR HIM

IMG_4449

I have used one of their digi images, and it reminded me of the Godfather films so I wanted to go for that kind of theme, all the shooting and lot’s of blood so it had to be a red card!
Now head on over to the PCJ blog and see what my fellow teamies have made.

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Paper Take Weekly -  Anything Goes
Craft Your Passion – Anything Goes

Items: White 6x6 card blank, other card from stash, red leather look backing paper a free digi from Bearly Mine Designs, ProMarkers, crystal gems, Pilot Gold Pen, VersaFine inkpad, Perfect Medium inkpad, clear embossing powder, Sentiment from Pink Gem and Woodware circle punch used on corners.

Critter Sketch Challenge #70

This week over at Critter Sketch Challenge we have a sketch for you to follow:

sketch

Here’s my take on the sketch:

IMG_4360

It was Fathers Day yesterday here in the UK so I used the adorable Lenny with Note from Stamp Fairy (who are our sponsors for the month of June) and added the word Daddy before printing to make a cute fathers day card for my little boy to give to my hubby.  I wanted to keep the rest of the card quite simple so coloured the image with ProMarkers, decoupaged for a bit of depth, added a ribbon and finally a little paper pleated rosette.  I even used the left over bits to decorate the inside of the card.

IMG_4365

Fingers cross this scheduled post has worked as right now I should be enjoying a nice week away with the in-laws!

Items: All card Papermill Direct, Image from Stamp Fairy, ProMarkers, MS Scoreboard, Stickles, corner punch (sorry can’t remember make) and ribbon from stash.

ATC Challenge Blog – Challenge 4

Fingers crossed Mr Blogger is playing nice today as this is a scheduled post. I’m on holiday and hopefully right about now I will be in a nice Pub enjoying a yummy roast dinner. Anyhoo, enough waffle, it is challenge number four over on the ATC Challenge Blog and the theme this week is very appropriate for Fathers Day and is:

MALE THEMED/FATHERS DAY
Below is my ATC and this week I think all the Less is More cards I’ve been making have sent me down a clean and simple route with my ATC and this is the one layer ATC I’ve made:

IMG_4368

I stamped the postage marks and stamped & embossed the the image of the man. Painted over entire ATC with acrylic paint and then wiped over with a tissue to remove some of the paint. Stamped 'Man' in bottom right.

Don’t forget to take a look at ATC Challenge Blog for more inspiration and as well as the challenge why not swap your ATCs as well....head over to Craftymess and take a look at the Everything ATC group where this months theme is a very similar ‘Male and including some sort of motor vehicle’.

Items: ATC base from stash, VersaFine Deep Lagoon, Clear Sparkle Embossing Powder, Acrylic Pain, Paper Artsy Stamp Set and Alphabet stamps unknown make.

Less is More - Week 12

Woah, all these Bank Holidays are playing havoc with my inner clock I spent all day yesterday thinking it was Friday and I'm not sure whether I'm coming or going. I'm going to keep this short and sweet today as I have a couple of cards to share (see other post for today). I made this card on Wednesday for my little boy to give his Dad for his birthday on Tuesday but I'm only just getting a chance to post it now and thought I'd better hurry up as I hate to miss a LIM challenge. The recipe this week is 'Off Centre' a bit tricky for me as I love everything central and symmetrical, so here is my take...

I have been having a play with some Fimo to make the little embellishments. It just needs rolling out, cutting into shapes, stamping into to create a pattern, baking and finally a sweep of a Brilliance Inkpad to highlight the pattern. Quite effective if I do say so myself!

Items: 6x6 White card blank, Bazzill Bling Card (can't remember which colour), Papermania Alphabet stickers, rub on from stash, Stickles Stardust, Fimo, an Inkadinkado stamp (sorry can't remember which) and silver Brilliance inkpad.

Card for my Nephew

Whoa, get me...my second post in a day! Reason being that I am going to stay with Mum and Dad for a few days to help out after her knee op so needed to get several cards made all in one go. This card is for my Nephew's 21st Birthday on Thursday.  It's in complete contrast to the card in my last post which was Less is More. I'm not that happy with the 21. I had to go freehand as I couldn't find the stamps I wanted to use, they have been AWOL since January when I made a 21st card for another of my Nephews...my craft room sure does need a tidy ;-)

Items: Navy, Red and Green card from stash, DP from the Pink Petticoat Creative Cardmaking Special Edition, ribbon from local sewing shop, Sentiment from Pink Gem, Martha Stewart Border punch, Woodware circle punches, Ranger Stickles, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Peeled Paint Distress Inkpad, Memento Tuxedo Black Inkpad, ProMarkers, buttons from stash and other stamps from a Docrafts Daisy and Dandelion set.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
MAWTT  - Card for a Male
Friday Sketchers - see above sketch
