Fun with Dana Tatar

Hi Craft-Dee BowZ fans! Dana Tatar here today sharing a layout. I like big bows and I cannot lie! I really like to use big bows on my layouts. The theme this month on the Craft-Dee BowZ Blog is layers and I had a lot of fun layering patterned papers and embellishments on this page.

Not counting the sweet photo of my daughter, this beautiful bow is my favorite element on this page, and I couldn't have created this gorgeous bow without my Craft-Dee BowZ Tool. I hope I have inspired you to add a big bow to your next scrapbook layout!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Guest Designer Karen Jiles- "I Love Your Style" Keepsake Tutorial

Hi there,

This is my first post as a Guest Designer for Craft-Dee BowZ. I am sharing this little keepsake and tutorial titled, "I Love Your Style." This keepsake was a joy to create. The base for this project is a wooden frame. I used patterned papers, stickers and die cuts by We R Memory Keepers. The double bow was created using the Craft-Dee BowZ tool, which makes creating bows effortless. This makes a perfect gift for a stylish friend or for your own craft space. I am including a tutorial below...:)

Supplies

Craft-Dee BowZ Tool

Frame (7 ¾ x 7 ¾)

Patterned Paper (7 ¼ x 7 ¼, Additional layers sized down in ½ increments)

Cardstock (Base layer: 7 ½ x 7 ½, Coordinating layer: 6 ½ x 6 ½)

Die Cuts

Stickers

Ribbon

Clear Bulb

Black ink

Black Marker

Xyron Adhesive

Hot Glue

3-D Tape

Scissors

Step One: Apply black ink to edges of patterned paper.

Step Two: Run Base layer of cardstock through Xyron Creatopia Machine and adhere to frame.

Step Three: Apply adhesive to back of patterned paper and wrap corners with ribbon. Using mega runner, apply adhesive to corners and adhere to frame.

Step Four: Apply black ink to all  patterned paper and sticker layers. Starting with 6 ½ x 6 ½ black cardstock layer, continue layering patterned papers, cardstock and stickers onto frame until happy with design. Use 3-D tape to pop up desired elements. Note: I cut various components from patterned paper and layered them together to achieve the desired look. Set aside.

Step Five: Add metal rods to desired width of bow and wrap ribbon around rods creating a U shape.  This particular bow created a 2 ¼ in. bow.

Step Six: Wrap ribbon around once more to create a double loop bow.

Step Seven: Tuck left tail under bow.

Step Eight: Tie into a knot. Even up the bow by tightening tails with both hands.

Step Nine: Slide bow off Craft-Dee BowZ tool and snip ends.  Use fingers to continue fluffing the bow out to create the desired fullness. Note: This particular bow was created for tutorial purposes.  The bow used on the “I Love Your Style” Keepsake was the same ribbon turned over to use the dull side of the ribbon versus the more enhanced designed side.

Step Ten: Adhere bow and clear bulb to frame using hot glue.
