Effect of Shear Wall in Seismic Performance of High-Rise Irregular RC Framed Building" considers the effect of introduction of shear wall in a high-rise irregular building. It compares the displacement responses that come about when a high-rise building is subject to lateral loads in an earthquake prone region. Irregular building with and without shear walls with different configurations are analyzed using the IS:456 2000 and seismic code IS:1893 2016. The earthquake loads are analyzed using static (Equivalent Static Method) and dynamic (Response Spectrum) methods as per IS:1893 2016 and the time history method using acceleration time history of Bhuj 2001. Based on the comparisons done during this study, the lateral stiffness of the buildings is enhanced by the introduction of shear walls at the building which leads to better performance against lateral loads. The configuration with shear wall at the lift core gives a good performance against lateral load in both the x and the y directions and the configuration with the shear wall along the y direction gives the best performance against lateral loads in y direction. The performance of any highrise buildings can be improved by providing shear wall of appropriate lengths at appropriate locations. The location should be such that the shear wall should help in decreasing eccentricity, and distributing gravity and lateral loads in best way possible.

Light wood roof-to-wall connections are vulnerable when subjected to high-speed winds. In lieu of traditional metal connections, the present finite element analysis (FEA) study focuses on the use of epoxy and easy-to-apply, noncorrosive FRP ties to connect the roof and the walls in wood frames. The FEA models of the wood roof-to-wall GFRP connection were validated with an experimental study in the literature. Subsequently parametric study was performed on the validated FEA models. Parameters considered were the addition of anchorages to secure the GFRP ties for FEA models of shear and uplift tests, and various FRP types. Wood roof-to-wall connection uplift model was subjected to monotonic cyclic loading to simulate the effect of wind load. Introduction: COVID-19 has spread all around the world with huge toll of human lives and suffering since it evolved in China. Nepal had slow rise in morbidity due to COVID 19 in early days but has been gripped by the pandemic's exponential growth lately. This study was conducted with the aim to describe the clinical and epidemiological features of Nepali children in early phase of the pandemic. Methods: This was an observational study conducted at 11 COVID care centres designated by the Government of Nepal with availability of supervision by paediatricians between January and August 2020 in children under 18 years of age diagnosed with COVID 19. This paper is based on the theoretical design method for the flexible pavement. The method consists of finding the shear strength of soil and then comparing it with the vertical stress imposed due to loading on the surface. The additional shear strength that needs to be beared by the soil by providing pavement layers of varying thickness is calculated.

As earths climate warms, High mountain asia's water cycle is changing, including shifts in its annual monsoon patterns and rainfall. Heavy rain, like the kind that falls during the monsoon season in june through September, can trigger landslides on the steep terrain, creating disasters that range from destroying towns to cutting off drinking water and transportation network.
