Image deletion warning | Image:That_Phanom_Brief.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry. If you created this image, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. If the file is up for deletion because it has been superseded by a superior derivative of your work, consider the notion that although the file may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new file. |

File tagging File:Rot_tai_na.jpg
[edit]This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading File:Rot_tai_na.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT ([email protected]). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the No permission since tag with on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you. |

- Is this file your own work? If yes please insert own as source instead of "Rot Tai Na". Thanks in advance. --High Contrast (talk) 13:12, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
- Dunno how the title wound up in Source, but I changed it. I'm still confused about licensing this as free to all. --Pawyilee (talk) 10:45, 28 December 2009 (UTC)

Tip: Categorizing images
[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.CategorizationBot (talk) 20:23, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

Burney treaty
[edit]I can't read file:Bowring Treaty (TH Ver) 001.jpg, and want to know where it was signed. The Treaty of Amity and Commerce between Siam and the United States, negotiated in 1833 by Edmund Roberts, concluded on Wednesday, the last of the fourth month of the year 1194, called Pi-marong-chat-tavasok, or the year of the Dragon, was done at the Royal City of Sia-Yut'hia (commonly called Bangkok), on the 20th day of March, in the year of our Lord 1833, and of the Independence of the United States of America the 57th.--Pawyilee (talk) 17:27, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
Yasothon Victory Wat Chedi 30.JPG
[edit]I should like to advise you that I have used your abovementioned image in my book: "Buddhistische Tempelanlagen in Thailand" (Buddhist Temples of Thailand) ISBN 978-3-7357-3903-2 --Zenwort (talk) 08:08, 4 July 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks! Be advised that the chedi is located on temple grounds, but is not a temple per se. The abbot there advised me that the original structure was destroyed by lightning. It is an important artifact in the cult of the Chakri Dynasty, which may be why it was rebuilt. It is problematic in that rumor has it that the 10 spires forecast that the dynasty will endure for ten generations; but, as we are now nearing the end of the tenth, it is against the law of lese masjete in Thailand to say that out loud. --Pawyilee (talk) 04:02, 29 November 2014 (UTC)
