Warning
[edit]Hi Oporinus. I noticed that you've made a malformed deletion request. When you want to delete a file with the {{Delete}} template, you must follow the instructions in the template, including the "Click here to show further instructions" portion. Alternatively, you can click the "Nominate for deletion" link in the left sidebar, under the "tools" section, which does all of the work for you. Please do one of these, otherwise you create a lot of work for other people. If you don't see the "Nominate for deletion" link in the left sidebar, you can use the JavaScript method of enabling AjaxQuickDelete on Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-gadgets once and then refresh once. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 14:41, 23 January 2021 (UTC)
Licenses
[edit]Hi, I wonder why you upload content like https://ub-portraets.ub.unibas.ch/de/detail/portraets2_9948394660105504 under a CC-by-SA license? Regards, --Polarlys (talk) 19:34, 13 February 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you, I have been wrong and will do better. Sorry, Oporinus Oporinus (talk) 14:18, 14 February 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, when you look up history, you will see that somebody else did change the license. I am not a specialist in licenses. What license would you propose? Regards, Oporinus Oporinus (talk) 10:48, 15 February 2022 (UTC)
- If you know that the photographer died more than 70 years ago, the photo is in the public domain (for European / Swiss works such as those you uploaded, and it's best if the works are also published more than 95 years ago, for US copyright reasons) and you can use an appropriate PD license like {{PD-old-auto-expired}} with the death year filled in. I've now changed the licensing in two of your uploads, File:Andreas Heusler (Jurist).png and File:Hermann Christ.png, accordingly. If the photographer died less than 70 years ago and you can't find a free license at the source, you shouldn't upload the photograph at all, as it is then probably non-free. Maybe you should go through your uploads and check where you can fix the licensing and where the image, maybe, should be deleted. A ping also to Polarlys. - Thank you for your help. I knew that the photographer died more than 70 years ago, but didn't realise that this is not quite sufficient. Oporinus Oporinus (talk) 14:24, 17 July 2022 (UTC)
- @Gestumblindi: After the death of Fritz Rabe († 1906), the studio operated under a different name, so that Fritz Rabe can be assumed to be the creator in 1901. I changed the license. --Polarlys (talk) 19:27, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
