Clevelend Museum of Art uploads
[edit]Hi, Michael and welcome to Wikimedia Commons. Thank you very much for these extremely valuable images from the museum's collection. --Rrburke (talk) 14:22, 22 January 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, thanks for your work on this project. It's exciting to see it underway. If you could, you might want to consider a different naming convention for your uploads. User:BotMultichill also uploaded a large batch of images, and they have more meaningful file names, like File:Edgar Degas - Paul Lafond and Alphonse Cherfils Examining a Painting - 1958.25 - Cleveland Museum of Art.tiff, for example. Would something similar be possible for your uploads? - Eureka Lott 16:26, 22 January 2019 (UTC)
- thanks for the great uploads. i would encourage you to consider uploading the object metadata, to https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Main_Page . i see you have an API, http://openaccess-api.clevelandart.org/ , so user:Multichill may do it. cheers. - Just chiming in regarding file names: more guidance and recommendations are at Commons:File naming (a proposed policy), and Commons:File renaming (an official guideline). All the best, --Animalparty (talk) 01:18, 23 January 2019 (UTC)

Bad encoding
[edit]Hi Michael, thanks for your work uploading great images! In case you haven't been aware of this request: Please tell your Mac to not use MacRoman encoding but UTF-8 instead, thank you. Cheers, --Achim (talk) 18:48, 15 March 2019 (UTC)
Uploads
[edit]Thanks for these, but please don't just dump stuff into the main Category:Collections of the Cleveland Museum of Art, but add to the most precise category available. Do you use the "Cat-a-lot" tool? You'll find it in your "preferences" tab. It makes moving images between categories in batches very quick and easy. Johnbod (talk) 17:45, 29 March 2019 (UTC)
