[edit]Closing FPCs
[edit]Be careful when closing FPCs. You closed Commons:Featured picture candidates/Image:Daisy Geyser erupting in Yellowstone National Park.jpg too soon. Norro posted the edit at the 28. of june. So today is day 9 and normaly voters could still vote for this edit. So you closed this candidate one day too early. --Simonizer (talk) 15:04, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
- Oops, I thought the voting period had ended (and BTW it was 5:44 too early, not "one day"). Still, my closure has revealed a bigger problem with the FP list; see my post on the Village Pump. -- Korax1214 (talk) 15:32, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
- That is why we wait until day 10 to close the FPCs!--Simonizer (talk) 16:12, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
geocoding
[edit]Some time ago you asked me to add geocoding to this image Image:Harry Potter Platform Kings Cross.jpg. Just responding to say I have finally done this, I am adding geocoding to some of my other images now I have figured out how it is done. Oxyman (talk) 18:26, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
File:Emirates Air Line Boarding Pass.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.) Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Korax1214. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Korax1214~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
