Summary

English: Eric and I crossed the runway for the Airport of Gibraltar just before a plane took off. This provided a great photo opportunity since the road was deserted. Of course, the ground control wasn't too happy with us as can be heard with the announcement over the loudspeaker. From what I've read, the pedestrian path will continue to be open even after the new air terminal and bypass road is built. However, I would recommend getting a chance to cross it on foot if you have the opportunity to visit Gibraltar because I imagine they may close this to pedestrians at some point for safety considerations and route everyone through the bypass.
The video is taken on Winston Churchill Ave, walking north across the runway towards the border with La Línea Spain. The plane taking off is some private jet. |
