Pandavula Metta, also called Pandavula Konda or Korukonda Buddhist site, is in Korukonda village about 25 kilometers north of Rajahmundry (East Godavari district). On two of the hills of Eastern Ghats here are two important historic monuments, one is a pre-3rd century Pandavula Metta site with Buddhist monastery remains. Another is a temple, about 1.5 kilometers away from the Buddhist site, one that has undergone significant renovations over the centuries. These hills also have some caves that have historically been linked to the Mahabharata mythology.
