English: Miwok (also spelled Miwuk, Mi-Wuk, or Me-Wuk).
  • The four linguistically-related groups of Native Americans, who lived in what is now Central (Sierra Nevada) and Northern (coastal) California.
  • They spoke one of the Miwok languages in the Utian languages family. The word Miwok means people in the native Miwokan language.
