Lützen is a town in the Burgenlandkreis district, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It is situated approx. 14 km northeast of Weißenfels, and 18 km southwest of Leipzig.
The town was the scene of two famous battles:
- The Battle of Lützen in 1632 in the Thirty Years' War, in which Gustav II Adolf of Sweden defeated Albrecht von Wallenstein.
- The Battle of Lützen in 1813 in the Napoleonic Wars, in which Napoleon defeated combined Russian and Prussian forces in nearby Großgörschen.
