A República de Moçambique é um país da costa oriental da África Austral, limitado a norte pela Zâmbia, Malawi e Tanzânia, a leste pelo Canal de Moçambique e pelo Oceano Índico, a sul e oeste pela África do Sul e a oeste pela Suazilândia e pelo Zimbabwe. No Canal de Moçambique, o país tem vários vizinhos, nomeadamente as Comores, Madagáscar, a possessão francesa de Mayotte e o departamento também francês de Reunião e as suas dependências Juan de Nova, Bassas da Índia e Ilha Europa.

Jina la nchi imetokana na Kisiwa cha Msumbiji iliyokuwa boma na makao makuu ya Ureno kwenye pwani la Afrika ya Mashariki.
