This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Rönne å.JPG. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the content is a derivative of a copyrighted work, you need to supply the names and a licence of the original authors as well.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{self|cc-by-sa-3.0}} to release it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you. --Filnik 21:24, 23 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi. This picture should not (yet) be featured untill the de-noised version has had at least five days time for getting votes (more if more than one supporting vote). Thanks. Lycaon 09:29, 6 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello, could you please take care of this image again when the voting period for its denoised version finishes (which I suggest has already happened). Thank you very much, Spiritia 06:32, 12 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Closing Asteracea poster.jpg

edit

I have posted the result of this one. If you have two versions of a picture and both have enought support votes, only the one with the best result get featured. If Alvesgaspar would like to get both pictures featured, he should have made a new nomination for the alternative. --Simonizer 09:16, 29 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Being the grunt for contests...

edit

I came here to whine about recognition only being given to people who edit dead peoples work -- but I am not going to. Probably none of the FPC prima donnas will thank you very often for taking care of their stuff; a few will. I just looked at your contributions and I have a couple of months of that in my history and it was soul sucking. I can't whine properly now. I will consider before editing a work of a living person in the future though, especially when it takes a few hours (although honestly, I don't know how much time I worked on the image that I edited).

When I was doing the stuff for QI (and no one else has picked it up after me so I might still end up doing some of it) having edited photographs especially some of them that took some clever editing and some talent, I started to paste the template on both the photographer and the editors pages. Well, a little whine -- minor edits to dead peoples work compared to major edits to the work of people who are not active right now. You should perhaps consider removing the template from the User pages where they only edited the work and were not the original photograph or artist....

You want to know something weird -- I have this feeling that the paper towel roll came from the place I have been staying.... -- carol 16:12, 10 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Translation

edit

Good day. Thanks for translating the description about my POD and for adding a description here.

I was wondering that, since the 2 translations are of different lengths (the second translation being way longer than the first one), does it makes sense to put this description here. I'm asking you since I can't understand the symbols and since there's more than 1 Chinese language category on POD template. As well, if you have time, feel free to translate the description of the image itself. Thank you. --S23678 (talk) 18:01, 4 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Picture of the Day suggestion

edit

First of all, thank you for your work getting the FPs and whatever to the POTD. I was looking at the page the other day and saw that it doesn't say "View Source" and started thinking about the great task that is putting images there....

I just saw in my watch list that File:Land on the Moon 7 21 1969-repair.jpg is scheduled for May 31, 2009. If you could consider to schedule it instead for July 21, 2009 -- that would be the day after the 30th Anniversary of the landing on the moon and also 30 years after that image was taken. -- carol (talk) 17:35, 20 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Re: Catrinas 2.jpg

You are correct - that image was used once before. That was my first time nominating a POTD, and I apparently didn't look carefully enough to make sure it was eligible. Mea culpa. I've changed the nominated image to a different featured picture of Catrinas. I would appreciate it if you could double-check me that this one has not been used before. — Ipoellet (talkf.k.a. Werewombat 19:01, 7 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

关于“今日图片”

edit

非常感谢你长期坚持不懈地翻译“今日图片”的说明。但也请你注意翻译质量,尽可能地将原文含义完整翻译、保留说明的重点,并使句子通顺可读。

比如Template:Potd/2014-04-16_(zh-hans)就没能很好的把Template:Potd/2014-04-16_(en)上的说明展示出来,Template:Potd/2014-04-15_(zh-hans)的翻译也不太准确。另在中文维基百科上也有对你的翻译的投诉

希望今后你在翻译“今日图片”的说明时多加斟酌,让只懂中文的人更好的感受“今日图片”的魅力。谢谢。--Xiaomingyan (talk) 02:29, 5 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

非常高兴看到您给我回复,不过对于您的回复我想提醒您,Commons:Picture of the day页面已写明Picture of the Day的说明应该从英语翻译成其他语言,另这里是独立于维基百科的维基共享资源项目。Xiaomingyan (talk) 09:04, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
