I’ve really gotten hooked on big chopping knives and heavy duty machetes. On my last few camping trips I have really been trying to decide which I like more and what I want to carry. I always backpack with a Fiskars Hatchet, but I been adding in some big choppers like a Skarma and Ontario RTAK II.

caving beginners safety tips

You need durable pants to go spelunking. I've never been able to find women's pants that can handle all of the climbing and sliding necessary to explore caves. Instead, I wear Men's Wrangler Outdoor Zip Cargo Pants. My boyfriend introduced them to me because my other pants kept getting destroyed. These pants are great! They are water resistant and even when I'm caked in mud, my pants are still dry against my skin. I would highly recommend these to anyone who plans to go spelunking…
