Painting postcards

Artist Erik Davis has been using our Watercolor Postcards to create beautiful, fun and vibrant pieces that anyone would be thrilled to receive in the mail! He uses a permanent ink pen to create the drawing, then adds color over the top with watercolors.

Pastel plant in a vase postcard illustration. The drawing made with posca markers in pastel colours. It's a spring illustration made for my new workshop in April.

I decided to try a new painting challenge! I used traditional gouache for this painting, and although I think it turned out alright.. I think I'm going to try acrylic paint for the next one. The smooth coating on the pantone postcard makes the surface a little tricky to paint on. So something like watercolor might now be the best for these.
