✨Romanian deadlift: RDLs starting position is standing up. It involves a hip hinge movement with a slight bend in the knees, focusing on stretching the hamstrings and loading the glutes. More bend in knees = more glutes. 

✨Deadlifts: The deadlift starting position is from the ground as it requires you to pick up the barbell. Start with back in upright position, shoulders rolled back, chest inline with bar and initiate movement through your legs and glutes. Deadlifts are effective for increasing functional strength. 

Overall, conventional deadlift have a greater impact on overall strength and hits multiple muscle groups at a time. While RDLs are more specific to a certain muscle group (glutes and hamstrings).
