Methods JSE-HPS original version was translated to develop the draft Thai JSE-HPS version and was administered to 5 dental students for a pilot test. The final questionnaires (JSE-HPS) were completed by 439 dental students from five public universities and one private in Thailand in the 2021–2022 academic year. The internal consistency and reliability (test-retest) of the questionnaires were tested by using Cronbach’s alpha and intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). Factor analysis was used to examine the underlying factors of the JSE-HPS (Thai language). Results The JSE-HPS represented good internal consistency (Cronbach’s α = 0.83). Factor analysis revealed, “Compassionate Care”, “Perspective Taking” and “Ability to stand ...

A literature search was conducted in PubMed and Scopus, including human studies that assessed the presence and width of keratinized mucosa in relation to the occurrence of peri-implantitis. Twenty-two articles were included, and 16 cross-sectional studies we meta-analyzed. The prevalence of peri-implantitis was 6.68–62.3% on patient-level and 4.5–58.1% on implant-level. The overall analysis indicated that the lack of keratinized mucosa was associated with a higher prevalence of peri-implantitis (OR = 2.78, 95% CI 2.07–3.74, p < 0.00001). Similar results were shown when subgroup analyses were performed, including studies with a similar case definition of peri-implantitis (Marginal Bone Loss, MBL ≥ 2 mm) (OR = 1.96, 95% CI 1.41–2.73, p < 0.0001), fixed prostheses only (OR = 2.82, 95% CI 1.85–4.28, p < 0.00001), p...

The event of interest at the system level is assumed to be caused by the earliest occurrence of a source, thereby conforming to a series system competing risks framework. Parametric inference is carried out under the power law process model that has found significant attention in industrial applications. Dependence among the cause-specific recurrent processes is induced via a shared frailty structure. The theoretical inference results are implemented to a warranty database for a fleet of automobiles, for which the warranty repair is triggered by the failure of one of many components. Extensive finite-sample simulation is carried out to supplement the asymptotic findings.

We undertake an investigation for analyzing failures from repairable systems that are subject to multiple failure modes. Failure data representing a cluster of recurrent events from a single system are studied under the parametric framework of a power-law process, a model that has found considerable attention in industrial applications. Some interesting and nonstandard asymptotic results ensue in this context that are discussed in detail. Extensive simulation has been carried out that supplements the theoretical findings. An extension to the case where the specific cause of failure may be missing is investigated in detail. The methodology has been implemented on recurrent failure data obtained from a warranty claim database for a fleet of automobiles. Supplementary material for this article is available online.

Situations, in which individuals or systems in some populations experience recurrent events, are common in areas such as manufacturing, software debugging, risk analysis, and clinical trials. In this study, we undertake an investigation for analyzing failures from repairable systems that are subjected to multiple failure modes. Recurrent cluster of failures from multiple systems is studied both with the assumption of independent failure modes and specifically with the dependence formulation under frailty structure. Extensive simulation has been carried out that supplements the theoretical findings.

The purpose of this study was to analyze a causal model of factors affecting business continuity ... more The purpose of this study was to analyze a causal model of factors affecting business continuity management for manufacturing sector of Listed Companies in the Stock Exchange of Thailand. The research population was 132 manufacturing companies listed before 2005 B.E. in the Stock Exchange of Thailand no less than 10 years. The research consisted of quantitative and qualitative research. A questionnaire wasused as a data collection tool for quantitative research while in-depth interviews for qualitative research. The results revealed that leadership and organizational competence factors affected business continuity management. Leadership had a positive indirect effect on business continuity management via organizational competence, and organizational competence had a positive direct effect on business continuity management.

Design/methodology/approach – The potential factors in nurturing innovation in public organizations are identified through the literature review. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to develop the models. Data collection and quantitative analysis were used to explore and understand each determinant. The models were evaluated at the managerial level by both “employee” and “client”. Findings – Findings reveal that management commitment is the essential factor that drives strategic orientation to boost innovation. This can be explained using three finalized models. Research limitations/implications – This paper explores only the domestic factors of the classifications. The results may not be generalizable to other countries in the region. Practical implications – Thoroughly understanding ...

In February 2020, the disease was named “coronavirus disease 2019” (COVID-19). COVID-19 became a pandemic in March 2020, and, since then, different countries have implemented a broad spectrum of policies. Thailand is considered to be among the top countries in handling its first wave of the outbreak -- 12 January to 31 July 2020. Here, we illustrate how Thailand tackled the COVID-19 outbreak, particularly the effects of public health interventions on the epidemiologic spread. This study shows how the available data from the outbreak can be analyzed and visualized to quantify the severity of the outbreak, the effectiveness of the interventions, and the level of risk of allowed activities during an easing of a “lockdown.” This study shows how a well-organized governmental apparatus can overcome the havoc caused by a pandemic.
