But they’re not telling you (or they don’t know themselves) that just because you’re “burning fat” doesn’t mean you’re actually losing fat from your body.

For many athletes, the idea of getting big outweighs the urge to get strong as the belief is the 2 go hand in hand. 1) lift heavy weight with fewer reps. You are more likely to get big lifting 4 sets of 8-12 then 3 sets of 5-8! 2) Muscle can only grow with a calorie surplus. Muscle needs energy and protein to grow! 3) Speed and power is a very good way to develop the efficiency of the muscles, allowing you to lift more with out putting on weight!
