It’s only a myth that you can see the Great Wall from space, but regardless, it’s still an awe-inspiring feat. Jinshanling is the wall’s best hiking route, which goes from Jinshanling to Simatai. It’s half restored but half left to nature, making it one of the most beautiful sections. If you want a more unique experience, head to Simatai – the only section open after dark – to see the wall lit up by night.

The Great Wall is an attraction that lives up to the hype. While it cannot be seen from space, it is a spectacular man-made wonder that should be seen in person. Unfortunately, the idea of a peaceful visit here is somewhat illusory.
