Povilas Dikavičius
Povilas Dikavičius is a doctoral candidate in Comparative History at Central European University. His doctoral research concerns the concept of noble honor in the renaissance Grand Duchy of Lithuania and aims to show the legal, quotidian, and political uses of this concept. Much emphasis is put on the analysis of transgressive behavior, therefore infliction and management shame and humiliation are of significant interest. In his previous work Povilas studied death, religious rituals, and violence; topics that remain relevant to his current work. Povilas' main interests lie in the fields of cultural anthropology and conceptual history of early modern Europe.
