A severely damaged or non-functioning aortic valve is commonly replaced with a bioprosthetic heart valve (BHV) via the transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) procedure. Accurate pre-operative planning is crucial for a successful TAVR outcome. Assessment of computational fluid dynamics (CFD), finite element analysis (FEA), and fluid–solid interaction (FSI) analysis offer a solution that has been increasingly utilized to evaluate BHV mechanics and dynamics. However, the high computational costs and the complex operation of computational modeling hinder its application. Recent advancements in the deep learning (DL) domain can offer a real-time surrogate that can render hemodynamic parameters in a few seconds, thus guiding clinicians to select the optimal treatment option. Herein, we provide a comprehensive review of classical computational modeling approaches, medical imaging, and DL approaches for planning a...

This study assessed implementation of the ICRR, site data steward experience with on-boarding and data entry, and patient acceptability. Multimethod observational pilot involves (I) analysis of ICRR data from three centers (Iran, Pakistan, and Qatar) from inception to May 2022, (II) focus group with on-boarded site data stewards (also from Mexico and India), and (III) semistructured interviews with participating patients. Five hundred sixty-seven patients were entered. Based on volumes at each program, 85.6% of patients were entered in ICRR. 99.3% patients approached consented to participate. The average time to enter data at pre- and follow-up assessments by source was 6.8–12.6 min. Of 22 variables preprogram, completion was 89.5%. Among patien...

Rheumatoid arthritis is defined by symmetric inflammation of synovial joints, which can eventually lead to the erosion of cartilage and bone. The objective of this study was to measure CCN3, CRP, I.R, Insulin .F.G, and Lipid profiles in patients with Rheumatoid arthritis. The current study comprised a total of 120 participants, who were separated into two groups. Group1 contained 70 Rheumatoid arthritis patients, and group2 controls 50; the samples were extracted from women and man, the levels of CCN3, CRP, I.R .F.G, Insulin, Cholesterol, TG, VLDL, LDL, and HDL were evaluated. The levels of PTX3 and Insulin were determined using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and the stories of F.G, Cholesterol, TG, CRP, VLDL, LDL, and HDL, were assayed using a spectrophotometer. The result of CCN3 shows a high significant change among two groups' patie...

These inequalities are caused by what we now term social determinants, defined as the way people live, work and age in a society. In the Eastern Mediterranean Region the knowledge base on social determinants and how these influence health is sparse. This publication reviews the social determinants of health in seven countries of the Region and represents a first step towards building a knowledge base that can inform policy and strategies related to social determinants and the health inequities arising from them. The publication also discusses some of the strategies that could be adopted to forward the agenda on social determinants of health and health equity in individual countries.

While in the past, national identity in the Gulf was defined consensually in reference to wider Gulf identity, efforts to invent new senses of communal belonging are often antagonistic in character vis-a-vis neighbouring communities. As the first crisis in the Gulf exceeding the boundaries of a feud between royal families, the 2017 Crisis can be defined as the first truly public crisis polarizing the people of the Gulf along previously defined national narratives. Although outsiders might argue there is more between the Gulf States that unites them than divides them, the 2017 Gulf Crisis has arguably driven a wedge not just between the states but the people of the Gulf.

One of the traditional applications of DTS is injectivity profiling, both for hydraulically fractured and non-fractured wells. There is a long history of determining injectivity profiles using temperature profiles, usually by analyzing warm-back data with largely pure heat conduction models or by employing a so-called "hot-slug" approach that requires tracking of a temperature transient that arises at the onset of injection. In many of these attempts there is no analysis performed for the key influencing physical factors that could create significant ambiguity in the interpretation results. Among such factors we will consider in detail is the possible impact of cross-flow during the early warm-back stage, but also the temperature transient signal that is related to the location of the fiber-optic sensing cable behind the casing when the fa...

Data were analyzed according to the presence or absence of Stroke or bronchial TIA. Demographic, management, in-hospital and 1-year outcomes were compared Results: Stroke patients were likely to have a decompensation of chronic failure rather than De-Novo AHF when compared to those without Stroke/TIA (see table). Stroke patients were older; more likely to be female, have history of DM, HTN, dysli...
